This is maybe not what you expect as an adult, but the children enjoyed a museum where you can touch everything. There is a fair collection of artefacts and the philosophy is not to have too many details written. Ideal if you need a break from sightseeing

Awful, please don't go! Terrible how anybody could be remotely proud of this and it actually costs €3 per person! Incredible........

Shock and disbelief as to how an organisation could be permitted to display such rubbish in such a lovely building, and then have the nerve to charge an entry fee!!

We asked the cassieres in good faith if the museum was fun. They said it was nice. They where wrong! Some old pots and tools are displayed, old drawings explain how to dig up artifacts and some interactivity was created by buttons lighting up some locations in a map of Brugge. In the museum we where laughing about it with... More

words cannot describe just how awful this museum is. to call it a kids museum would be an insult to kids. instead of stairs, there was scaffolding everywhere. The coloring in pages had an ink roller to color them in. the exhibits were installed in a kitchen - someone had bought a kitchen sink unit and put pots on the... More

I didn't look at other reviews before this visit to the Archaeological 'Museum'. It is a semi interactive exhibit for children and the notes/explanations/display are in Flemish. The explanation / notes sheet in English was poor and I abandoned it. It is the sort of place I would have taken a Key Stage 3 or key Stage 2 class to... More

From the name and the pottery outside the museum you get the impression this might be an interesting museum (if you are into archeology) HOWEVER...this is a kids museum about archeology NOT a museum with archeological finds. Even as a kids museum it wasn't very nice- most everything was either broken or dirty.

Best to give this a miss, waste of money and time I am sure British Health And Safety would have a field day and you can learn more about archeology watching Time Team. This is a fantastic city with history galore and you will learn absolutely nothing from a visit to this museum

I do not know why they call this an archaeological museum. It is a total misnomer. It's a children's "show and tell", hands on, dress up museum. Thankfully, it was included in our Brugge Museum pass and we did not have to pay an additional fee. It was quite disappointing. It was like a maze and we had a hard... More

It has to be said that in the 3 days we had in Bruges we did very little. It was a dry April weekend and it is such a pleasant place to just wander around, take in the sights of the houses, canals, churches and markets, antique shops that you do not feel obliged to do anything else. That we... More
