Railway provides access to other towns outside bruges when on short stays. We have been to Kortryk 1 hour and Ghent half hour, both are worth a visit . The trains are very clean and prompt

We arrived in Bruges from Brussels (Midi) and it was easy to make our way from the platform (via lift) to the ground floor area, where there was good signage to show you the exit for the buses and taxis. We took a van-taxi to our hotel in the centre and it cost 15 euros (for 4 people and all... More

The train station is walkable from the centre of Bruges. We took a taxi and it cost 10 euros. It is well laid out. The train we took from Bruges to Brussels was a double decker so there was loads of seats and was very comfortable. The trains run every 30 minutes to Brussels and take an hour.

Very clear indicators and signs. All the usual fast food outlets. Taxi rank right outside - only 5/10 minutes to centre of old town.

I liked that station not only small ( not to say basic) but easy to move around it too... You just can not get lost there. Station employees are very attentive and patient with explaining what and how. It is also very easy to reach the town Center from station or return to station by bus (about 7 minutes with... More

the train station is outside the old town, just go to the building outside that sells bus tickets and get advise on how to get to the town square, or where you need to go. Take a bus it is easy. And the washrooms are pay toilets in the train station.

Was a wee bit coinfused at first but was easy enough to use ticket machines, even found me the cheapest tickets due to an extended holiday weekend which saved me about 14 euros. Overall well set out and easy to navigate the station.
