This was pretty but you see much nicer and less touristy places in a lovely city like beugge We went out of our way to go there but didn't think much of it

Minnewater Lake and the surrounding park are simply gorgeous. If you're in Bruges, instead of going to the overpriced (and honestly not that good) restaurants, consider grabbing some beers and some snacks from the nearby grocery store and walking over to the park for a picnic -a couple hours enjoying the sun and the beautiful sights, strolling the paths, and... This has a rectangular lake and lots of swans. But really it is just a small park, and by no means the only one in Bruges. But it does get you away from the tourists!

Fantastic, romantic, quiet area for a lovely walk after gorging yourself on the chocolate and beer. However if it`s early evening beware of those pesky biting insects -- they will get you. Don`t forget your camera.

It's a really beautiful setting with some great photo opportunities. On a sunny day the contrasting colours are beautiful. It makes a great contrast to the hustle and bustle of town.

The Minnewater is my favorite area in Brugge. This is where you can take advantage of wonderful photo op's, visit the Beguinage, and lots of options of great restaurants for an easy or in depth meal. You can also catch a horse drawn carriage from here for a tour of the city.

I suspect this is a very beautiful part of town early and late but don't expect a quiet lunch there - tour groups were marched through every few mins on the main paths. Walk a little to the more southern end (this is a really small park) and there are some quieter areas on the grass down by the canal... More

The Minnewater lake was a short walk for us and we took a picnic for our lunch here. Very pretty with lots of ducks and swans and the old sluice gate to the city.

Lovely area to take a stroll, watch the swans and ducks, sit and stare at the lake. a definite must see in Bruges. If you take the horse & carriage tour, they usually stop in this area for about 5 minutes to feed the horses, gives you a chance to wander about and get a feel for the area. Lots... More

What a lovely place to wander in the evening we had little ducklings and swans everywhere. You can get onto the walk around the outskirts of Brugge from here if your feet are up to it after a day walking around the town (and it's not cobbles).
