Of all the places we went in Brugge Minnewater Lake was certainly the most romantic. Big lakes and waterways and lots to see. Including ducks. Great for an afternoon stroll, nice views and especially on a warm day. Although beware many other people will have the same idea so it can get busy!

Perfect for a walk and some pictures, quiet, not very crowded, close to the train station, a good place to rest and admire the lake, the trees and the castle.

A lovely place to walk in the daytime and the evening. Well lit and safe. It is a nice area of the city in which to relax and take in the views away from the crowds. At night Bruges is so beautifully lit. Beware of the mosquitoes, of course! It is a shame the scenic house right by the waterside... More

It's an amazing place, it's like the entrance to the world of fantastic tales and dreams. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited.

This is a picturesque lake, just between the main touristy part of town and the station, and for whatever reason most of the tourists seem to stay away so it isn't as oppressively crowded as some parts of Bruges. It isn't anything special, so maybe don't take a big detour to come here, but if e.g. you're walking to the... More

At the south end of Bruges. It's surrounded by a beautiful park. When you're tired of Markt and the crowds and noise, go down to the Lake and watch the swans and ducks swim around.

I took my girlfriend, and now wife, here in May because she loved tulips. The park surrounding the lake offered a very romantic experience and the lake itself a picturesque view of Bruges. I would recommend this site for anyone looking for a few minutes of peace and silence surrounded by beautiful landscape.

Very pretty, bit of a shuffly walk with other tourists, many bars and bistros to stop for refreshments and just enjoy the view and people watching. This is the place that the horse and carriages stop so nice for the kids to get up close to the horses. Pretty architecture. We walked back to the centre using a back route... More
