For some a stroll around the park and lake may not be worth the trek from the centre of town but we always walk into Bruges through Minnewater when we visit. It's such a nice introduction to Bruges to walk across from the station and through the park, finding the lake, the gardens, the canals, the swans, etc all waiting... More

A lovely park and lake which is a green and peaceful place to simply wander through or to picnic on a sunny day. Do take some bread to feed the swans and ducks and stop off on the way to see where the horse carriages rest near the Begjinhof.

A nice area, lots to see and do but it was a little crowded when we were there and it is a small area.

Bruges is a beautiful historical city. Great photography venue and a romantic place. I visited the Minnewater Lake during sunset and managed to capture good pictures of the lake and church. Hope to be back again!

Tranquil & peaceful reflections on the water. Horse drawn carriages & swans, plus a legend about them. Pavement cafes, & the Beginuage close by.

Beautiful setting for a picnic or just to sit and relax. Can be a bit crowded with all of the tour bus groups making it a stop but worth it. There are other parks and areas along the path around the city that are just as beautiful but much more quiet as they are not filled with tourists. Rent a... More

We went there on a Monday afternoon with very little crowds and it was perfect. Great opportunity for taking spectacular pictures. There are swans in the canal. Time has frozen here!

the lake is one of the first and last things you will see if travelling via the ferries by p and o from Hull zeebrugge, its a beautiful end to an amazing stay in this abundantly historically beautiful city....i highly recommend a canal trip that takes you into the lake to see the swans which are the symbol of the city... Minnewater is a lovely area of the old town, with it's monastery canals and swans. It does get very busy and is cobbled, so can be difficult if one is not too good at walking. There are horse and carriage rides both from and to here and some nice cafes, but is particularly crowded on Fridays and Saturdays.

Great place for some beautiful photo opportunities, & the history of this place was engaging. Swans were everywhere & they are stunning. The crowds are a little intimidating, but manageable
