It is the beautiful 122 meters high brick tower and perfect illustration of the craftsmanship of Bruges’ artisans. You can find the Michelangelo’s world-famous Madonna and Child, and the tombs of Mary of Burgundy and Charles the Bold..

Make sure you visit this church. The walk to the church is enchanting, through the wonderful town of Brugge. Inside this church is a Michaelangelo sculpture of Madonna and Child. You have to pay to see this sculpture, but the fee is nominal.

For a nominal fee, enter the partitioned area to see many beautiful works of religious art to include the famous Michelangelo's Madonna and Child. The rest of the church may be viewed at no charge where there are many other beautiful works of art and architecture to enjoy.

The inside of the church is beautiful and of course you can pay to see Michelangelo's famous Madonna and Child statue and a few other pieces of art that are in that section of the church. However, I was probably more impressed by the outside of the church and the enormity of it. The church is made from tiny individual... More

This church is nothing special inside compared to others in Bruges. Outside, this church is wonderful and is a good navigational point should you get lost. Inside, the church is a bit of a building site but cant complain about that as its an old building. The only highlight is the statue, but unfortunately we didnt have time to attend... More

Considering that it took two centuries (13th-15th) to build the church it is very impressive both inside and out. The Cathedral is now under going renovations, but is is still a must-see during any visit to Brugge. The soaring spire and magnificent exterior architecture left me inspired. Among the many art treasures of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk is a beautiful Carrara marble... More

If you have seen the movie "The Monument Men", then a visit here will show you one of the masterpieces they retrieved - Michelangelo's Madonna & child. Nice architecture and of more interest to Catholics.

In its current state (25 Oct 2014), whereas the cathedral is being reworked and renovated, its potential is unsufficiently unveiled, literally as parts are covererd, among which the famous tryptych (drieluik). The cathedral holds one of the rarest paintings, Michelangelo's Madonna with Child. Rare because of its history (stolen twice) and because of the fact that there is hardly any... More

At 122.3 meters It's the tallest tower in Bruges and the second tallest brick tower in the world. A great piece of engineering. Around the grounds are crosses that came of the churches during the second world war removed from steeples to confuse the enemy.

A major restoration project is underway, with half the church cut-off. This means there is a limited amount to see inside, though you can pay to view the Michelangelo Madonna.
