For any Michelangelo fans seeing Madonna and Child will be top of your list. You will have to pay to see this part of the church while the rest is free to view. The church has lots of portraits and beautiful statues. Renovation was in progress but this didn't spoil our visit.

Quite an experience, seeing the Madonna and child from Michelangelo was moving (think Monuments Men). The architecture was beautiful

We purposely went here to see Michealangelos Madonna and Child. It's €3 to see it but the rest of the church is free. Very beautiful.

A lot of renovation work is going on here at the present time - but we still enjoyed our visit as there are many items to be admired. We loved seeing the statues of the Apostles, the carved oak pulpit and beautiful bronze mausoleums.

This is a must visit for anyone whether or not they are believers. A lovely old church, somewhat dilapidated, (which in my opinion adds to the charm) it houses Michelangelo’s Madonna of Bruges. This marble sculpture of Madonna and infant Jesus is hauntingly beautiful and a sight you will never forget.

I found this to be a peaceful yet busy church but thought that the interior was deteriorating quite badly. It looked like it was under going some restoration work as well which made it a bit awkward to get around. Compared to the other church in the area, it was quite disappointing to go and see after we'd seen the... More

I can't understand why the interior of this church has been allowed to deteriorate to its current condition. I know there is restoration currently in progress, but given the importance of this Church, and the importance of tourism to Bruges, it has clearly been overlooked for many years. The beauty of Michelangelo's Mother with Child stood in stark contrast to... More

The rest of the church is lovely, too, with some Flemish paintings on prominent display with the large church, and its integral monuments, for a background. But the main attraction is Michelangelo's Bruges Madonna. (There is an admission charge for this section of the church, but when there is restoration work, the price is halved down to 3 Euros.) She... More
