Seeing an actual Michelangelo statue was certainly worth the trip.

Visited here as part of our Viking River Cruise. Just to see the statue by Michelangelo was amazing. The church was very nice, but the real attraction was the statue.

This would be just another pretty church in Europe if it wasn't for the marble statue by Michelangelo of the Madonna and child. You have to pay a small charge to see it but it's worth it as its one of very few of his works outside of Italy and France. The Church is being restored. Go to the rear of... More

Not a notable church, big lineups from all the river cruise visitors and the many others, construction and yeah, one Michaelangelo from a distance. Only worthwhile if you have a devotion, or simply insist on seeing everything to see in any given place.

One of Michelangelo's major works is here. You should see it! This piece was taken by the Nazi's and recovered years later. One of the works featured in the movie...Monument Men

Went in as part of a Globus tour. There is a fee to see Michaelangelo Madonna and Child. The main part of the church is behind shrouds. Not much else to see.

You can walk around inside the church. Kind of neat, but it's under major restoration and much of it is obscured. The also force you to pay to see the one important Michelangelo work housed here. You can def skip this "attraction." Sad that you have to pay for most of the sites in Bruges.. it's such a cool place... More

We were charged €5 to go in to find pretty much a building site as the church is undergoing restoration. As most of the church was roped off, but there were people there we asked how to get there and were directed out of the church into another door, which said that entrance was free!!! Although we did see some... More

It took two centuries to construct, it houses the Madonna and Child sculpture by Michelangelo, the floodlit spire can be seen at night across the city, just so much to see, another must visit whilst in Bruges

The restoration does not really interfere with the section of the church that houses Michelangelo's Madonna. It is not as large as expected but was even more inspiring.
