I have a day trip to Bruges about twice a year and used to drop in here nearly every time, mainly to see the Michelangelo marble sculpture. I would like to correct a recent reviewer who thought it the only sculpture by the artist outside Italy. It is not. There is one in London at the Royal Academy, one in... More

This medieval church is a must see while in Brugge. The outside structure is very impressive as are the garden grounds along the river. Inside is the famous Michelangelo sculpture Madonna and Child and is a must see. The carved pulpit, the art, and the alter are also stunningly impressive. I always take visitors here.

Thought this far better than the cathedral though some construction work was on going so unable to see everything. Definitely recommend going here.

We visited the church whilst it was going through renovations so it wasn't a little messy. We paid the 3 euros to get into the museum area to see the Michelangelo statue which was definitely worth it just to see the madonna statue.

Lots of cool paintings, statues and information about the site etc but the church was not as ornate as expected but still interesting to see. The outside was really much more ornate and lovely. Worth a visit. Student 2 euro entry fee

A fascinating church with architecture from the Romanesque and Gothic periods. In the east end of the church are very fine tombs of Charles the Bold and his daughter Mary of Burgundy - in contrasting Gothic and Renaissance styles, despite their superficial similarity. The church also houses one of the few Michelangelo sculptures outside of Italy, the "Madonna with child".

As it is impossible to see the church in it's full spendour because of the renovation one should not go. Not much to be seen. When we were there someone was playing the organ. That Will always enhance the whole experience. Not This time.It seemed like a composition by Count Dracula. As we were not here to be part of... More

Even under heavy restauration this church is still interesting. There is a lot to see and some surprising features such as the underground tombs. It is probably stunning when all is open, but restauration seems only to end in 2017...

We visited on the day of christmas and so the church was very beautiful. Though there is nothing much exciting to expect other than the typical church things and items. No use of going to tat church museum.
