Nice place to walk thru. Peaceful, would be a good place to sit and relax on a Hot summer day. Story of immunity from local law is nice...otherwise average.

A beautiful scenario taken from the magic of literature. It is an enchanted realm with the beautiful medieval architecture that brings its own spell. When Flandes, now Belgium was part of the Spanish Empire, Bruges was translated to Brujas (witches) in Spanish and so, you will find cute dolls tending to that side of the story, however, the name comes... We went on a lovely trek and took a small picnic lunch of sandwich and wine to the Minnewater Lake and on the way back from there strode by Begijnhof - a spectacular place that is enchanting. My partner and I kept repeating the words from the film In Bruges: it's a fairytale city. This section is really as pretty... More

The grounds are beautiful and so peaceful. So relaxing to sit and just look around. The Museum there was really interesting with furniture and paintings dating back to the 1500s. It cost 2 euro and takes only a few minutes to get through. The museum comprises of a few rooms decorated in old Flemish style. The Church is a fabulous... More

We visited there on the walking tour of Bruges - it's a peaceful sanctuary, lots of trees, places to sit, just a lovely place to sit and take in the serenity of the place, right in the middle of the old city.

We went in on one of our walks and it's such a beautifully serene place. Such a sanctuary for the people who live there, once a upon a time, widows and single women, at a time when they would have suffered from lack of support and protection. Today it is such a lovely place to visit, admire and contemplate. I... More

This is a lovely place with a fascinating history. It can turn from tranquil to noisy in a minute, so perhaps best visited when the group tours have left. My understanding is that the gated community of small houses was founded in the 13th century by fairly affluent women whose husbands did not come home from the Crusades, but who... More

There is absolutely nothing to nothing to see or do here. This is an old convent and consists of a lawned square with some trees surrounded by plain whitewashed nuns houses and a church. Not only is there nothing to do but you are not allowed onto the grass and there is a request for silence - no talking- so... More

It's the place you see in all the adverts, good place to take a photo. It's also part of the boat tour, which is well worth taking. They're cheap compared to somewhere like London, 30 minute trip 8 euros. Enjoy!
