The shade trees, lawn, modest surrounding buildings and simple chapel remind one of the virtues of a simple life. The nuns' chapel service is open to the public and is chanted a capella.

Right next to Minnerwater, this is a peaceful and tranquil place to be. In fact, all of Minnerwater is peaceful and just the place to watch the world go by.

Cleaning up after a music festival closed the area. What i could see was indeed beautiful, peaceful and serene.

A good sense of history and a calm place for reflection. Not far from the centre and right next to Minnewater. Please do observe the notices requesting silence as nuns still live and worship here.

There is not much to see here but it's a tranquil place for a walk. The church is pretty unremarkable although apparently you can, at times, hear the nuns singing.

This is a real haven of peace and quite in the city. An enclosed area with cultural and historical interest beautifully shaded with old trees.

The Beguinage is located quite close to the Bruges railway station and we went there at the end of a day trip to Bruges. The town centre itself is gorgeous but absolutely crammed with tourists; you wonder if anyone actually lives there. By contrast, the Beguinage offers an oasis of peace, quiet and beauty. It was so enjoyable to walk... More

This is a lovely place to walk through and enjoy. Our daughter had been here before and encouraged us to see it as well...she was spot on!

Our visit to the Beguinage was pleasant, though somewhat marred by tourists who were unwilling to respect the signage that requested silence. Also disappointing was the condition of the grounds, which showed signs of a lack of care and attention. We did, however, time our late afternoon visit with late afternoon prayers, Vespers, in the chapel. Although the view was... More

This oasis of calm in a tourist invaded city is a must. This ancient community of women is now inhabited by Benedictine nuns who are happy for the outside world to wander round their home.
