Our curiosity led us here, on a walk to Minnewater Lake, which is in close proximity. Peace and tranquility are the order of the day in this self contained community, housing a monastery and row of simple, neat white dwellings, partially hidden behind a lawned and wooded area. We visited on a sunny day at the end of March when... More

We came across this area whilst walking around, it is a beautiful and tranquil place. As everywhere in the city centre you are surrounded by beautiful buildings. A great place to stroll and take some photos. Very nice this time of year too with the spring flowers in bloom.

The Easter flowers were all abloom! Our private tour guide gave us all the spill on history of the place. Visit early morning to avoid the crowd

Really interesting idea of a safe place for women to live in the Middle Ages. Place of great calm in beautiful spot.

A lovely quiet Benedictine monastery. Delightful houses surrounding a green wooded area - full of daffodils when we visited in March.

Lovely on our sunny spring day with daffodils out. Be quiet and enjoy the atmosphere. Contemplative rather than exciting!

This is a beautiful and serene place indeed. A very quiet old area. We went from Antwerpen by car and then walked around. There is no fee attached to see this place but yet it is one of the best attractions here so do make a visit if you are there.

This square forces you to slow down and enjoy the display of daffodils (in mid-March) and quaint houses of this peaceful retreat. Be kind and stay off the lawns and on the pathways... as the signs say...

If you have a nice sunny day, visit here, only a 10 minute walk from main square, Peaceful location, steeped in history, visit an original nun's house, and go into the beautifully kept church,
