In good weather it is a wonderful place to visit, look at the swans and just enjoy this magnificent park on a beautiful city.

A short walk from the centre takes you there and it is well worth it. There is a gift shop and the church is open for visits and attendance at one of their five daily services makes the day.

Although it should be like that. Tourists can be really noisy and this isn't the place to be loud. Nice walking way, almost zen like.

One of the more beautiful spots, not to be missed. Tranquil, pretty and a reminder of how life has changed; perhaps not always for the better. A haven for women who lived outside of the traditional marriage providing social, economic and spiritual support while allowing for personal independence. Maybe this in one institution that should be revived.

This is a beautiful courtyard surrounded by the beguine houses. Silence is requested so a tranquility preserved. The museum in the corner is well worth a visit. It is utterly charming. The church a peaceful place to pray and holds a sense of holiness.

Be sure not to miss this place - it is well worth a visit after a busy day in Bruges. It is so tranquil and peaceful - a lovely enclosed courtyard area with a tree filled centre surrounded by a cluster of 17th century whitewashed houses. The gates close at 6.30 pm, we arrived about an hour before that. There... More

It's easy to pass by and miss this walled area. The history of the Begijnhof is fascinating, and if one takes the time to read the explanations, it is easy to imagine what this women-only community must've been like in centuries past. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the place, taking in the peaceful atmosphere.
