This bar is now permanently closed, with another replacing it. No railway unfortunately. We spent ages looking, and was advised by a lady with very large breasts in the new bar that it closed aprox 9 months ago.

We really wanted to visit Rail City and followed instructions from one of the comments here on TripAdvisor, but could not find the cafe! We kindly suggest to the owners to help people visit them ;) If the cafe is still open?!

I give it 4 stars just because it is an unusual cafe which hosts a mini display of a city with several rails onto which one train passes along (if you press the buttons). It would be much nicer and entertaining if trains were 3 or 4 running around at all times, rather than ONLY when pressing buttons!

Then this is the place to visit, although not the easiest place to find. A large detailed layout but unfortunately not many trains operating. Might have given it a higher score had the TGV been running. Beer was good and reasonably priced.

One long wall of this establishment is taken up with a diorama, of railway tracks running through the countryside and various stations. And something is moving all the time although the hi-speed model never did. The trains are mini in size. There is no information about them or their model size. Adult or child you have to be an enthusiast... More

If you like model trains and a drink, maybe this is the place to visit. Bar and one of the largest automated model railways available. Further work has been done on this since the last visit.

We had great difficulty finding this cafe. It is opposite the Church of our lady, Mariastraat, through the archway into the Picasso exhibition but carry straight on into a covered shopping area, the cafe is on the left. On entering you are in a small bar/cafe but on the right is a fantastic 00 guage model railway which the cafe... More

Popped here for a drink as my boyfriend is a fan of trains. We were blown away by the intricacy that has been used to create such a fantastic model railway. The drinks were very reasonably priced and a wide choice. Was lovely to see a range of ages enjoy a group of people's passion in creating a model railway.... More

A great business idea - a 15m HO model railway with elevated bench seating in parallel where you can enjoy a beer or two. It's nearly complete - just a bit of work still to do at the one end. And the beer is very reasonably priced.

I've visited this place twice now and planning a return visit in May this year. We found it by accident three years ago and loved it. It's a 'work in progress' railway layout and the guy who owns it appears to be funding it from his cafeteria or with a charge for those not eating or drinking something. We have... More
