When in Bruges, there’s nothing like viewing this historic city from its canals. These affordable, 30-minute boat tours follow the same routes and offer commentary in several languages. But because they’re incredibly popular with visitors, don’t be surprised by long waits in line.

Our Captain was extremely friendly & knowledgeable if only a little too much 'Val Doonican' in appearance. Obviously a rocking chair has no place on a packed cruise boat but he at least had the good sense to not launch into 'Paddy McGinty's Goat' at every opportunity.

They pack you in to the small boat. The captain was funny and informative. The dialog is in 3 languages. Bruges is breathtaking.

WARNING!!!! You need to queue and expect up to an hour wait, so have water & a hat (if sunny) for the wait. Also, there are many places to get on/off the boats, so if one is closed, continue to the next one - don't give up, as this is a delightful tour when you get on it. It really... More

Over rated day trip. Had difficulty finding the place to board the boat. Walked around for 15 minutes before a lady at a lighting store helped us. Met a very interesting guide called Fillip at the boarding point -shared a lot of local information. As per his advise we walked back into Brugge from the boat stop via scenic route... More

Everyone does this, and its certainly worth the 7 euros. Gives you a different view of the city, which is mainly toured by walking.

Four of us spent a peaceful morning travelling the half hour or so from Bruges to Damme and back. We passed lushly tree lined banks full of wild life and arrived in Damme ready to explore. Dame is a quaint village with massive abbey ruin in it. It is quiet compared with Bruges but therein lies its charm . Plenty... More

You definitely need to do the canal boats as part of your Bruges trip showing parts of the city you wouldn't otherwise see. Bruges is quaint and very interesting. Dont forgetto sample the waffles!!

My daughter and I went on a day trip to Bruges, when staying in Paris. We arranged it at the last minute through Viatours and I am so glad we did! We had a wonderful day, with plenty of free time to explore all the lovely shops and historic buildings. A canal tour was included in the cost of the... More

I know...it sounds corny and touristy but do it. Bruges is such a beautiful city that seeing it from the water only enhances the experience. The city controls the price so every one charges the same and it was well worth it. We got to see parts of the city that you just can't walk to. Beautiful!
