When in Bruges, there’s nothing like viewing this historic city from its canals. These affordable, 30-minute boat tours follow the same routes and offer commentary in several languages. But because they’re incredibly popular with visitors, don’t be surprised by long waits in line.

Took the trip from Bruges (Dampoort) to Damme along the canal. A return ticket costs 10.50 Euros and takes about 35 minutes. A pleasant and relaxing trip through the countryside of Belgium. I would suggest having a leisurely lunch in Damme - a pleasant village, before heading back to Bruges (the boat returns at 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00 I think).

On board the Lamme Goedzak on a fine day for a relaxing 35 minute glide up the canal to Damme where we tried a couple of interesting beers on the recommendation of Ulrich the captain. A very interesting man who works as one of 3 captains on the boat during the season, April to September, then goes home to his... More

Bruges is second only to Venice for the beauty of the canals and it's small enough that the 30 minute boat ride shows you all the highlights. Not only do you see the architecture but it takes you to Minnewater and the Begijnhof where you can see lot's of frisky swans. Bruges tip....If you plan to sight-see there for 2-3... More

A charming mini trip around the canals is a must to experience Bruges. Several companies seem to offer the trips and they all seem very similar so just jump on one when you have time.

This canal boat tour is picturesque in the right weather condition. Only 8 euros it is a lovely way to see some historic buildings. It has a number of language translations & seems to cater for many tourists. We didn't wait too long & a sign stated when next boat was leaving. Quite efficient. Probably best to read up on... More

2 weeks in Paris and Brugge and this is the thing that had me grinning ear to ear for nearly an hour. I absolutely loved this tour. On a beautiful day, which we were blessed to have, this tour is one of my European highlights (and I've been to nearly every country on the continent). Brugge is so quaint and... More

It makes you wish that you live by one of the houses by the canal! To me coming from a busy city like Singapore this place is like a dream! The canals and the bridges that connects the town gives Bruges a distinct identity. Dont miss the canal trip, it gives you a different look and feel of the lovely... More

Since you visit Bruges, it is up to you to feel the spirit of the city by taking a canal trip! Those trips offer another view of the city, more atmospheric! EXCELLENT!

Wonderful way to see the city. Expert guide relayed the history of the landmarks we passed. The canalboats give you an overview of the whole city and a view of the buildings not visible from the streets. After the boated we walked back to several of the sites we had passed. Don't miss the bars - they serve every beer... More
