So pleased with their renovations. They took long enough but it was worth the wait! The building looks pretty neat, railways easily accessible. The tracks and the platforms are from decent quality too. You have just the right amount of snack bars and the information about hours and incoming/leaving trains is clear!

Spotting a rather spectacular monument at the end of the main street, I found myself walking to Leuven Station. Outside there is a monumental tribute to the those lost at war, from there the eye is drawn to the station building. Old and new collide here and yet there is no jarring sensation just fascination. Architecture on so many different... More

The city has been working on the Leuven Train Station for quite a while - first on the tracks, then on the station itself. The results is quite nice. The tracks have a modern, almost futuristic look while the historical looking outside of the train station building has been maintained. It's a bit of a shame thought that there's also... More

A modern building with steel structured roof in excellent condition with signs of on going works. There are ample cafes on the platform with more in the station buildings. While waiting on the platform I was delighted to see a Thalys pass through the station at speed in a wash of spray and rain. The bus station appears to be... More

The original building is nice but the soldier's memorial out front is much better. It killed some time getting here and let us see more of the city. But you can spend your time much better elsewhere.

A while ago they refurbished the entire railway station. There are a lot more food shops (Panos, Starbucks,...). You can get tickets in the main hall or in the building. Getting your ticket at a ticket dispenser takes less time than cueing up. Now, passes can be renewed at the dispensers as well. People who bike through the tunnel, will... More

Not only is this a nice train station, but you can take the train directly from the airport in Brussels to Leuven. Within and outside, lots of great places to eat and have a beer or a coffee. Local people are kind and helpful. The train station also is next to the bus terminal, and Leuven is easy to walk... More
