We were on route back to Calais from Ypres by coach and the coach organizers handed out a Ghent town centre map. Ghent has so much history so much to see. We could not do the place justice in such a short time. We followed the map/tram lines and saw much of the centre. Plenty of cafes/bars/restaurants as we walked... More

I was really helped by the guidance. You can download the PDF file from Ghent tourism website as well. During my sightseeing, i had many help from people in taking pictures and showing the right path. I had the trip in dec 2012.

This is a 45 minute trip and costs very little. You get to see a lot in the time and from a different perspective. Some of the boat captains are pretty interesting characters. This is a must do. (We were here in summer)

This was the first time I experienced a concept like this. We were a group that started with a boat trip where champagne was served and our guide told us about the sights we could view from the canals and the river. Then we started on the walking tour with some stops for historical sights and we entered the first... More

Hour and a half tour within short distance but plenty of history and jokes/gibes. Chance to see interesting architecture in context.

Wonderful City full of beautiful buildings. Before you wonder about too much, get on a boat trip tour to find out what's what in Ghent. Would recommend an open air boat (if weather permits) they are not as wide and can go further. The tour last about 45 mins and is worth every cent of the €6.50.

it was planned to do this city trip together with my sister, so early morning she called in with her husband. It was actually a short drive to Ghent. We putted the car under the Vrijdagmarkt and we started our walk from there. Ghent has a big history and the first statue we saw was "Jacob van Artevelde" in the... More

Everyone speaks English so well, which is really rare thing one can expect in different European cities specially a small city like Ghent... I never expected... More

The tour is very professionally giuded, the Flemish speaking girl was amazingly informed on all the historical facts and even advised us on the best places to eat while the tour was progressing. Very nice experience. Thanks a lot.

East Flanders- population of 250,000, has for centuries been the focal point of the Flemish nationality. Ghent owes its historical importance to the cloth - The city flourished long time ago during the Middle Ages, and there was even a period, around the turn of the 14th century, when it was the second-largest city north of the Alps; only Paris...
