You can see medieval Ghent from this spot. During the jazz festival a Brazilian percussion group (Pachamamapercussio) enthralled us with their drumming and choreography.

Great views of historic city and massive crowds enjoying music on one of the stages around the city during our visit. Also visit St Michaels church whilst your there especially if there's music on as the acoustics are phenomenal.

This is the place to start your walk. from the top of the bridge you can see the main attractions which you later visit. You can walk around easily, no need for a guided tour, and see the attraction one after the other. they are all in a short walking distance

This city is filled with beautiful sites and iconographic figures. Everything in your surroundings is just gorgeous, Ghent is a city not to miss, having dinner in the places near the bridge is just very romantic!

The view from here is 360- degree panorama. The waterway in front of you - now chokers with tourist-laden boats - belie the fact that the confluence of the two rivers was the city's busy harbour. Lining the embankment on the right are several ornately decorated guild houses which were formally the meeting halls for seamen or corn traders. Straight... More

This is a lovely old bridge crossing over the river and alongside some lovely old buildings, When lit up at night, it takes a great photo.

From this bridge there is a fine view of the small port area of Graslei, with its impressive houses and pretty coffee venues.

I was reading review on tripomatic about this bridge before going to Ghent and I thought might be its over written, but, when I reached on this bridge in afternoon, I found myself wrong. It instantly gave the feel of entering into old medieval city. I went back again in the night and I found myself standing cozy with lights... More

We must have walked over St Michael's Bridge a dozen times during our two day trip to Ghent. The view from the bridge is superb, though it's a pity that that St Bavo's Cathedral is covered in scaffolding. A busy and central meeting spot.
