If you explore the central old town area of Ghent you can't miss "St. Michael's Bridge". This old stone bridge spans the Leie River and connects the beautiful Korenlei and Graslei streets of the town. These two riverside streets are lined with some architectural marvels and this historic part of town is simply stunning. I visited the bridge both at... More

This is an old stone bridge connecting the Graslei and Korenlei beside St Michael's church in downtown Ghent. It is an architectural feature of this area but I was unable to find a date of construction for the bridge. I am going to guess there has been a bridge there since the middle ages however the current bridge looks more... More

Very old, and picturesque bridge in the middle of Ghent. We went in November, so the skies were pretty gray, but you can still get a nice photo. There is a mural of the "Monuments Men" movie around the corner, so don't miss it. Very pretty spot for night photos.

Usually bridges or have a nice view of it or from it, but this one makes it difficult to choose, the views of the bridge are the most beautiful ones from the city, but from both sides of the bridge you can also see the lovely historical houses and the city center buildings. Ghent is for sure one of the... More

The bridge and its surroundings are a must see when in Ghent. Mornings or afternoons offer best lighting conditions for photography. It is very close to the historic centre, with clearly marked directions. If you want to sit down and relax, you might want to try the restaurants in the side streets: they would be less busy and offer better... More

Lovely bridge which is most probably the busiest here while in Ghent. The views from the bridge no matter which way you look are breathe taking. We got a stunning sunset picture from here! Really nice view point:)

A lovely view of the old buildings, with the boats still going up and down the canal. You can look to the Gravensteen, and then go for a walk along the canal. It's a contrast to the Christmas market outside St Bavos.

If one parks at the underground car park St Michiels then heads for the bridge you will be greeted by, what I believe to be the finest view of Ghent. The famous three towers line up up in good order. You can see the outline of the Gravensteen (mediaeval) castle. And once halfway over the bridge you have the amazling... More

Stand on the bridge and admire the beautiful architecture. It's like stepping back in time! Walk along the canal and look back towards St Michael's bridge and the view is equally as impressive.

On this bridge you get the best view of the canal- Gravensteen Castle, and 3 churches as well as the Town Hall. Cannot miss standing on the bridge and looking around!
