I was there in the evening and it was beautiful. The bridge is at walking distance from churches and beautiful buildings right in the city centre. There are bars and cafes all around and people relaxing along the channel where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful and charming sights. Great place where to take pictures.

Ghent is a hidden gem indeed. It was intended to be just a stopover on our return from the Netherlands to the Channel Tunnel. The bridge, town square, cathedral and numerous bars and cafe's are all within walking distance of this beautiful bridge. You can also take boat rides from the bridge.

Great place to take pictures. Beautiful views of the river and the flemish houses aligned around it.

If you stand on this bridge you can see the spires of the main historic buildings including the cathedral and the belfry. Would recommend taking a canal boat tour, very interesting and a different view of the city.

Its a nice bridge, good for a photo moment on the way to the castle or city centre. No different to the other bridges over channels in Europe.

The place itself it very beautiful, old buildings along the channel but it's usally crowded and pedestrians have to mind the cars crossing the bridge.

The view around St. Michael's bridge is fascinating. Boat ride around city of Ghent starts from this bridge and revisits you through the historic events that city has witnessed. Nice eating places nearby.

Great views of the canals and facades. Feels like you have stepped back in time. It is also a great meeting spot.

Except that standing on the middle of the bridge offers a nice photo shot of the canal and town, didn't find this very exciting.

We were lucky to have fabulous weather when we visited Gent for a three-day stay. The view from the bridge is stunning and for a moment we thought that we were in Venice, not Gent. Lots of pleasure boats on the water, happy faces, people in cafes.... The atmosphere around the bridge was vibrant and young, with lots of young... More
