Great way to spend 40 minutes

We loved our little boat tour of Ghent, but note that the 40 minute journey does not cover a great area, as the guide tends to halt the boat several times to explain in various languages the area around us (which is perfectly understandable). However, for €7 each, the value is great, and it's a lovely thing to do after... More

Take an enjouable boattrip with personal explication. Enjoy a free beer and discover ancient Gent. There is no bettercwayvto discover the city. Gent is more interesting than Bruges, it is larger.

The boats stop at a couple of places to pick up people on the way and can be a bit of a crush, and then they trundle up and down a short stretch of the canals, so if you are on the 'wrong' side of the boat for a picture, you can get it on the way back. We couldn't... More

let the guide take you for a ride on the canals and river that cross the city and listen to his stories and the (sometimes very personal interpretation of) city's history for a few euros you get a unique view

For 7 Euros, this boat tour of Ghent was amazing value. We had a fantastic time and it was nice to get off our feet for a bit! Highly recommended!!

Perfect way to start your visit to Ghent. Guide/captain spoke Dutch, German, French and English and was highly entertaining. After 40 minutes on the boat, we had a good idea about the history, buildings and monuments of Ghent and all left the boat with a smile on their face. Highly recommended

The boat trip in ghent takes about 45 min. Since the channels are not connected, they have to turn and go back every time. This makes that you don't see that much during your trip. I prefer a walk through the city.

I was not impressed by this boat tour. The signs say it is a 40min ride for E6.50. Ours went for 25mins at the most and included driving to another jetty to pick up more passengers. The tour goes under the bridge to St Michael's church, back to Ghent river hotel and then out to Rabot. All of these sights... More

We were not sure what to expect on the boat tour, but found it to be well worth the 6,50€ As the only english speakers on a full boat I was really surprised when the tour guide not only translated all of the standard information for us, but even included us in the jokes and small information that we may...
