This museum ought to be a highlight but large areas- perhaps 80% of the total exhibition area- were closed and despite a reduced entry fee we felt seriously short-changed.

Unfortunately, when I went, they were putting up an exhibit, so most of the 20th century section was empty. They did discount the price because of this. In the older building, there were interesting rooms of furniture, but no signs to give context or explanations of what you were seeing. I never knew what time period I was looking at.... More

In october most of museum was closed for installation of December start exhibit--same problem in Bruges. Attendant was not cordial about it at all--in fact he offered the visitor who exited as we came in her money back because all she could see was the first floor but would not do the same for us.

Arriving here I found out that the place had only one exhibition to visit; the rest was closed in preparation of something new. Well, I guess I was not born for minimalism and I know others love it. But in this museum I decided never to go into this modern minimalist stuff again. I simply don't get it when there... More

This is a very special place, it worths a visit. One can pass in front of the building several times and not paying attention to it - I'm glad our host at the hotel insisted that we should go there and check the exhibition.

It was OK but boring. I love design, so it is not the subject matter. Maybe my misfortune to come at a time where the changing exhibition was not to my taste and a large area closed off as they were preparing for another. The shop was also disappointing. It was included in the Ghent City Card, but had I... More

The museum has four or five floors but no lift !! Not a good example of design I think. If you are in a wheelchair forget it. Two floors were closed anyway when we visited. The shop which could be a money spinner is tiny. What we did see was OK but my wife is not good on stairs and... More
