Beautiful historic mansion with a strong permanent collection of furniture, porcelain, textiles, and the like. The temporary exhibit only had labeling in Dutch, unfortunately, but the other exhibits had wall texts in four languages including English. If you enjoy art and architecture, you will like this museum. Many of the objects in the collections are outstanding examples of their kind... More

The museum has a collection from the late Middle Ages till today, with an emphasis on Art Nouveau/ Art Deco and modern design. It is housed in a nicely renovated city mansion from 1750s. There are generally 3 special exhibits, 2 smaller ones and 1 larger, generally at least one is on modern design. For children there is a finding... More

My husband and I have English in common, we speak French and Italian respectively. We loved the design museum, but the special exhibit had only Flemish signs and explanations, no other languages. Most people there were from other countries. We found guides in other areas (Spanish and French ) but there was nothing in the special are. The ticket seller... More

Stylish modern and airy museum galleries with some brilliant exhibits. The art deco exhibition was stunning, and the modern pieces were thoughtfully presented.

There's a surprising amount to see in the museum, including Art Deco furniture, glass and silverware, and a contemporary collection. The current Dyson exhibition is also very interesting and well documented and displayed.

This beautiful museum is filled with glass art, modern designs and there was a Dyson (vacuum) exhibit Technology and so much more. Creative design and construction of so many things. A lot of furniture from light fixtures to couches, chairs, artistic screens, glass art.... A fun filled day of culture for us.

Being a Gent citizen, I walk in from time to time. Great collection, interesting temporary exhibitions, beautiful old building with very inventive modern museum architecture inside

Nothing to really add to the positive reviews here. Great value with the city card, it's much bigger than it looks from the front. We loved the Dyson exhibition but the permanent collection is a treasure trove. Would have liked just a little more info in French or English some of the explanation cards are placed very low down (perfect... More

As with all the decent museums in Ghent, get the Ghent card and save money. The museum is larger an it looks. At first you think it's a small house but at the rear the place expands into a huge building with large open spaces for visiting collections. In May 14 his was a collection based around Dyson. Very interesting... More

You enter a traditional building which bursts into a modern addition. More English would have helped me. Gorgeous garden.
