The Kraanlei connects the old centre with the area where the restaurants are so you defintely need to pass there when visiting the city. Nice street with some nice little shops and restaurants.

Just go there and enjoy walking along the canal, many nice shops are around but they all close at 6 o'clock in the evening except fthe restaurants. Don't forget your camera.

The Kraanlei is not the top of the medieval quays in Ghent, but is nice for a stroll around. Located conveniently between the Vrijdagsmarkt and the Gravensteen, each day trip to Ghent should pass here.

It is one of the reasons people travel. Step back in time and see Flemish architecture at its best. It is a night time must see.

Beautiful to walk by, take a look in the small shops (especially sweet shop Temmerman & Julie's) and have a drink in the museum garden

This is the best spot to relax next to the water. There are several restaurants and cafés , but you can also sit on the embankment.

Good place to be with friends, read a book or relax along the borders of the canal. Watch the people in the boats passing by. A place for youngsters and students when the weather is nice.

Not as 'grand' as neighbouring graslei and Korenlei, the view from Kraanlei is quite picturesque. Beautiful 'Patershol', the Medieval quarter, is just around the corner.
