The atmosphere in the huge cafeteria is very special. And you can feel the spirit; there is history in the air. It is a very warm atmosphere. The new terrace next to the building is great !!! If the weather is fine, you have sun, the colorful chairs add to the atmosphere. But take care for your knees, you might... More

Vooruit is the place to be in Ghent. It's Ghents most famous cultural spot, where you can enjoy good food made by the best chef with local ingredients, art, concerts, dance events and there's even place for performances, theathre and much more. The building itself is amazing..The bar sometimes reminds me of bars in Paris. De vooruit is not to... More

Built by architect Ferdinand Dierckens around 1914 this former hall for culturel events has a theatre, cinema and other public rooms. Nowadays a cultural center again you can visit the whole building guided by two lanes on the floor from the artists wardrobes in the basement to the roof. Ground floor houses a snack bar (restaurant) but I went instead... More

Without any doubt the most important player of the Ghent cultural scene. Nearly every day there's dance, theatre or music on display. And besides of that, the bar is large and a nice setting to spot the creative people of Ghent. Very special is the Café Dansant on sunday afternoon where the older part of the town gatters to dance... More

It is an art nouveau building, quiet remarkable in the student area.

Thanks for your review! We like to be remarkable, especially with our 100 years old building that is a place that welcomes everybody whether it is for a drink or to enjoy one of our many events that take place in one of our 5 rooms. However we are a bit sad you find our place average. If you are... More

For people with brains and into culture, one of the best venues of the town. Popular with students. Absolutely gay-friendly, with quite often gay parties in one of their many rooms. And in summer, Vooruit welcomes dance addicts with '10 Days Off.'
