When i was invited to the Ghent Port Tours i was a little bit apprehensive, i thought it is going to be a very boring tour that will ruin my weekend. But to my suprise it is 5 star and highly recommended-fascinating, informative and educational. I will do it again and next time i will concentrate more.

A nice way to spend a warm sunny afternoon. Comfortable boat with comfortable indoor & outdoor seating. Narration was not in English.

I personally found this tour to be the most romantic of all my travels. The peaceful boat moves along the beautiful buildings and old castles. Some of the stories of the castles are sad about torture. yet, together with the riverside performances and great people it is a lovely treat.

the canal trips are 40 mins and leave about every 10 mins. fascinating view of houses etc that wouldn't be seen from the road. Ghent itself is beautiful, very tranquil and easy to navigate. We found it to be nicer than Bruges, mainly because there are less crowds. The castle is worth a visit

Ghent is similar, although larger than Bruges. The various churches are beautiful and the views along the river at the centre outstanding. One needs to stay for several days in order to enjoy what it has to offer but even a short visit leaves one impressed by its attractions.

There's no such thing as a free lunch. Well in Ghent we found one. A free boat trip through the Ghent harbour. Actually it's a sea harbour, because really huge ships can enter the port. Our local friends told us to make our reservation in time, and that was really necessary. The boat trip took two hours and we sat... More
