We traveled an hour only to find a dark, old-fashioned museum/aquarium which cannot compete with similar places around the world. Think of aquariums in Sydney, London or Lisbon. Liege is a different world, 50-odd years behind in terms of displaying and explaining their theme to the visiting public. The aquarium was okay and much more interesting than the rest of... More

I could not see spending more than 1.5-2hrs here, the place isn't very big, has a good range of fish, the natural history part of the museum (very top floor, lots of steps to get there!!) is worth the visit lot of skeletons of various animals.

We visited Liege Aquarium and Natural History Museum in September 2012. The aquariums were well set out and a good size, with an interesting selection of fish, including one I had never seen in any other aquarium. There was a variety of freshwater and marine fish. The Natural History Museum was excellent - containing many stuffed animals and birds, some... More

I would mostly recommend it to families with children or huge fans of aquariums. The collection is not one of those huge ones but definitely worthy seeing 20 minutes walk from Liege-Palais station. Watch out for the first Sunday of the week: it is for free and it gets pretty crowded and warm.

Combined with the zoological exhibits, this makes a good trip for small children on a rainy day. The elevator is out of order as of our visit on 6 Oct 2012, so be sure everyone can climb the stairs (or you can carry the stroller) if you wish to see the zoological exhibits. There is a small, reasonably priced gift... More

This place is great to visit with kids and a perfect spot to hide from the rains on a rainy day. This is not the largest Aquarium we have seen by far but enough to enjoy a 1 to 2 hours visit. The Zoological museum is also very nice and it is definetely worth a visit if you are in... More

This is a museum grown out of the Liege university collection. If you are used to some of the huge 'experience' aquaria you can visit in coastal towns, then this underfunded small aquarium will not impress you. The collection is still nice.

It can be visited. Nothing very great. We have so many zoological museum so if you are looking for something different or special. It may not be this one. Better to visit Aquatopia in Antwerp. ................;)

I likes the variety of fishes, sharks, turtles. Good to have this kind of Museum in a small city like Liege.

This is a lovely museum, lot’s of fishes of around the world, nice explanations and proper museum, with the same ticket you can visit (upstairs) the zoological museum, very interesting with stuffed animals from the African savanna. We had a really good time. Just in from of this museum you could take a small boat and have a city tour... More
