This is a place where fish are kept in small and not too clean tanks. It's in the basement of the building, dark, gloomy on the verge of claustrophobic. This place is so 20th century! I'm a fan of scuba diving (made about 700 dives now) and I never get tired of looking at fish, corals etc... but when I... More

I go to this aquarium once in a while but I would probably not if it were not for my daughter. It is small and when it is crowded it is quite claustrophobic. It is old fashioned, we like the panel where you have to recognize the sound of different animals, and the stuffed animals upstairs are quite something... right... More

The building was difficult to find. The aquarium was interesting but not exceptional. The museum of zoology was unusual in the way artefacts were grouped which made it slightly more interesting. There were no leeway for tourists as none of the legends were in English.

The aquarium is pretty standard and when we visited the sharks had been moved to an aquarium in Antwerp which was disappointing. The Zoological museum was just a large range of stuffed animals and specimens in jars which was interesting but nothing new. I would only recommend this to kill a bit of time.

This building has an aquarium in the basement with quite many interesting species, though a bit old fashioned, in a room next you find a large tank for sharks. On the 2nd floor is a zoological museum with a lot of stuffed animals

We traveled an hour only to find a dark, old-fashioned museum/aquarium which cannot compete with similar places around the world. Think of aquariums in Sydney, London or Lisbon. Liege is a different world, 50-odd years behind in terms of displaying and explaining their theme to the visiting public. The aquarium was okay and much more interesting than the rest of... More

I could not see spending more than 1.5-2hrs here, the place isn't very big, has a good range of fish, the natural history part of the museum (very top floor, lots of steps to get there!!) is worth the visit lot of skeletons of various animals.

We visited Liege Aquarium and Natural History Museum in September 2012. The aquariums were well set out and a good size, with an interesting selection of fish, including one I had never seen in any other aquarium. There was a variety of freshwater and marine fish. The Natural History Museum was excellent - containing many stuffed animals and birds, some... More

I would mostly recommend it to families with children or huge fans of aquariums. The collection is not one of those huge ones but definitely worthy seeing 20 minutes walk from Liege-Palais station. Watch out for the first Sunday of the week: it is for free and it gets pretty crowded and warm.

Combined with the zoological exhibits, this makes a good trip for small children on a rainy day. The elevator is out of order as of our visit on 6 Oct 2012, so be sure everyone can climb the stairs (or you can carry the stroller) if you wish to see the zoological exhibits. There is a small, reasonably priced gift... More
