Very tastefully done tourist attraction that gives you a taste of Costa Rica in one place. Beautiful drive up from the San Jose metro area. Best to walk to the falls in the morning in case of afternoon rain. Take the Fern Trail and the Rio La Paz trail if you're into more hiking - but not a great deal... More

Getting here was very easy as it's on a main route. It has a large car park, and no rip-off parking charges. Before arriving we thought this was just one waterfall, but it turned out to be so much more. Firstly there are several falls all set in some amazing countryside. There is also a very comprehensive zoo, many beautiful... More

We travelled here as part of the full day tour to see the Doka Coffee Plantation, the Poas Volcano and the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. It was a great day all round, but the Waterfall Gardens were an absolute highlight. We loved seeing the various "gardens", which included mini exhibits of butterflys, birds, hummingbirds, monkeys, big cats, frogs, insects, and... More

Must visit place in CR! This place is packed with amazing views and activities for the whole family. My son is 7 and he's been asking to go there almost every week. There is trout fishing (they will cook it for you). Probably the biggest butterfly farm in CR. I have been to others and this one always catch your... More

So many varieties of plants and animals to see! The waterfall is impressive with trails that lead right up to it. Restaurant is an excellent value...all you can eat buffet for about $14. You can let the butterflies hang out on your hand in the Mariposario. You can get within a foot of the hummingbirds at their feeders. You will... More

La Paz Waterfall gardens is actually an ecological park including hiking trails through the cloud forest, waterfalls, an aviary with tropical birds, viewing area with monkeys, jaguars and other large cats, a hummingbird garden, a butterfly garden, historical casita, and a nice open-air restaurant. It's all one price, and you can spend as much time as you want. Be prepared... More

The various waterfalls at La Paz waterfall gardens were breathtaking. Visitors should be prepared for the number of steps you have to climb to view the waterfalls. The waterfalls made for great photos. It's nice there is a balcony you can sit at when you finish the trail...you will need to rest!

Lots of stairs and hiking but the waterfalls were beautiful. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be sure you can walk a distance both up and down stairs. It will be well worth it as the waterfalls were flowing hard. You get up close enough to get wet. So serene and the sound of the water is amazing,

This is a wildlife/ ecopark built around waterfalls. It was really fun! It wasn't really hiking like I thought it would be, but it was more touristy. There were separate exhibits, like aviary, butterfly garden, monkeys, etc. with paved pathways in between. I got to hold a toucan, and see a lot of animals that I hadn't seen in the... More
