I had heard of this location for many years, but never taken the time to visit until now. This has many of the same things that Monteverde has - frogs, snakes, butterflies, orchids, just all in one location. I would say though that Monteverde's attractions - while separate buildings/locations - are larger and more extensive than what La Paz offers.... More

This was one of the best tours during my stay in Costa Rica. The nature preserve they have on site was a unique experience that will be remembered for quite some time (having Toucans sit on your arms/shoulders).

The animals were amazing. We got to hold a toucan! Not many monkeys located here but a few. The hummingbird section was also fantastic. I thought the animals would be more spread out along the waterfalls but inttead we spent about 1-2 hours seeing the animals then an hour walking about 300 steps to see the waterfalls. I was quite... We went to La Paz Waterfall Gardens as part of a day tour out of San Jose. This place is owned by the company that owns The Springs Resort and Spa (where we stayed in Arenal), which you can tell immediately thanks to the similar décor and the level of service and cleanliness. Quite a menagerie they have there: birds,... More

This was part of a tour that was combined with the Poas Volcano and a coffee plantation. I loved the toucan, butterfly, humming bird and frog galleries as you could walk through the enclosures with these wonderful creatures surrounding you in a more natural setting. The rest of the animals were in a more zoo-like setting though these were all... More

Loved it! Amazing! First, we ate brunch and it was awesome. Then we checked out the Monkeys, Tucans, Jungle cats, Butterflies, and the jaw-dropping waterfalls. Can't wait to go back!

Great combination of waterfall, large butterfly garden, hummingbirds and an excellent restaurant! You can spend a whole day at this place. We were able to hold toucans on our hands and see them close, so that was an added bonus!

We made a stop here on our journey between Tortuguero & Arenal. It's a little out of the way, but the falls are beautiful. You can see the main waterfall from the road, so you don't have to go in if you don't want to. Aside from the falls, the park also includes an animal sanctuary for exotic animals that... More
