Second visit with the family - took the little one (6) on the underground tour. "Kebab" was a fantastic guide, funny, engaging and clearly an old hand. Loads to keep everyone busy outside too and a lovely nature trail. Entry to the museum is free with a small charge for the underground tour. This is refundable but please don't as... More

We decided to visit here as we hadn't been before and have an interest in mines and anything underground. We were not disappointed, i was surprised that the museum was free admission, the underground tours are £3 but this is refundable if you hand back your token, we didn't we decided to keep it as a souvenir. The underground tour... More

Three of us went to the Museum today - a very good experience. Our guide was fun, interesting and very knowledgeable. The Underground tour is especially good in that you really walk it, and get an (albeit small) idea of what life for the workers must have been like. It is quite a long walk, but there are several areas... More

He only ever gave me one piece of career advice: 'I don't care what job you decide to do son, but you... More

what a brilliant underground tour. We visited on Sat 20th with our teenage daughter and 5 year old grandaughter. Our tour guide was Paul Grace and what a star. He made the tour amusing and interacted brilliantly with the kids. He kept us all entertained and interested throughout the whole tour. By the time we left my grandaughter thought he... More

The tour was great, the guide made it, enthusiastic isn't the word. Thoroughly enjoyed it, I bored the wife for hours about mining afterwards. Would whole heartedly recommend it.

We Visited the mining museum as part of school trip. It was FANTASTIC. The site is large and well laid out. They do living history workshops and the kids loved it. They were able to engage with all the people and had a very informative hour with Sam Fletcher. Who explained in graphic detail how they would have been treated... More
