Very beautiful gotic church and "the Car d'Or"

The church with its paintings and marble statues of Jacques Du Brœucq is a must see in Mons. The Car d'Or (Golden Coach) is absolutely amazing. Stain windows are beautiful

The best parts of it is Gothic, but maybe because it's building lasted almost 2,5 centuries, there are some very different ideas on it's outside. The part looking downhill is rather pompous and is showing the power of church. Understandable if it was built during the Renaissance era. The inside is not too overwhelming but rather peaceful. Somewhat overwhelming is... More

The church is quite impressive, both inside and out. I particularly liked the stained glass windows, many very detained and different for each litte chapel. You can have an audio guide of the church, but as well, there are many detailed signed for the various points in the church so this is not really necessary.

The building itself is old. I went in and I found bunch of prices tied together and I asked what they were doing they said it fallen down. I started being aware of if it might fall on me. It's pretty nice building but the stories of it; can't be told to children.

Lovely beautiful church, lots of detail to see and pay attention too. Very friendly staff. We were here on a very hot day so being inside was a relief as well.

Beautiful church, our guide Patricia was very informative. Alabaster statues of the virtues, ornate boxes that hold remains of Saint Waudru. Must go. Free or small donation.

The exquisite beauty of the church itself, its paintings and statues is a must see in Mons. The Car d'Or (Golden Coach) is absolutely amazing, so many rich details. Church's wc could be in better conditions and explanations in English would be a plus.

This is the main church of Mons and houses many ornate and decorative nooks and crannies. It is also the location for music concerts and whilst we were visiting we listened to an organist and a singer practising (presumably) for a forthcoming concert. The acoustics were exceptional and we would have stayed longer if our timetable would have allowed it.

This church is worth a visit on a wet day, but I would recommend it to families with small children...too many things to fall over and break
