Make this a must-do if you're in Brussels for a short time. Everything about the place is "traditional." Waiters seem like they've been there for decades, and are helpful and nice, but a bit on the brusque side, as you'd expect them to be. Don't go for a big meal, but a snack and a drink, and you'll enjoy the...

This old-fashioned beer hall feels like the set for a pre-WW1 costume drama. Lots of arts and craftsy decor, mirrors, gilt, and a very convivial atmosphere in the late evenings. True, the waiters are rather brusque and no-nonsense (but no worse than I've had in other places, like Paris), but this did not bother me at all.
The beers are...

One of the oldest cafés in Brussels.
It's a great place to just sit down and have a beer.
Would not really recommend eating there, though the food's not bad.

We read a glowing review of this bar and due to my love of Lambic beers, we went. The waiter was rude in the extreme, the service abominable, and apparently, while eating, the Belgians do not believe ins using napkins. When we requested napkins with our salads, that request was REFUSED. My Husband's french, who is bilingual btw, was corrected,...

Just at the north end of the Galeries Hubert, this little old place is delightfully authentic.
Like lots of Brussells it's not cheap, but a draught beer, and a 'tartine au fromage blanc' served with a mountain of fresh radishes and spring onions, whilst sat outside in the spring sunshine was a charming experience.

This bar, just around the corner from our hotel, is in a real time wrap. Fine mirrored walls, wooden tables and chairs and waiters dressed like they are in an Agatha Christie story. Great! It was less crowded or smokey - no smoking in here - than the overrated Delirium bar. The food they serve looked adequate and good value,...

This is a very beautiful bar, both long and tall the La Mort Subite is a must visit bar with its beautiful Paris look. Go here for a drink on in the late afternoon and relax for awhile with one of their lovely beers.
Not a bar you would stay all day in but worth a visit and Just have...

The venue is lovely, like a fancily decorated beer hall. Touch smoky. We asked for a cheese plate which turned out to be an enormous amount of cheddar. The acoustics lend to it getting a bit loud when it was buy. Service was simple and efficient, though we really only ordered once. Came primarily for the tap only Mort Subite...
