The beer is to die for, the location is convenient and the interior is special. Definitely worth dropping by, or staying in. It's a little piece of beer history.

What a fantastic place! We had a day out in Brussels, not totally sure of the best places to go we headed to the tourist information. The man behind the desk seemed to be wishing we were taking him with us. He suggested four bars and this was one of them. We loved it, the first we went to was... More

Absolutely authentic bar with great beers and a fantastic atmosphere. Great mixture of clientele, old, young, locals, visitors, Eurocrats, Eurosceptics and ourselves loving every minute. Not to be missed!

Lovely buzz in the place, traditional surroundings , great beer and simple food. The only downside being the temptation to stay through to the evening!

Popped in here for a pint and was pleasently surprised. It doesn't look much from the outside, and it retains the original decor inside. This is part of its charm. Table service, very friendly waitress. Good beer and reasonable prices too. Well worth a visit.

I've been lucky enough to spend a lot of time in and around Brussels through work over the years, and have developed a real affinity to the Belgians' appreciation of food and drink. I found La Mort Subite completely by chance, and was immediately taken by the feel of the place, right down to the cat asleep in a basket... More

Mort Subite is well known, you recognize it immediately when a lot of people are passing and taking pictures from the outside. Many tourists will come here. You can have a snack, but really not more than that, served by busy waiters who do not really have more time for you. The drink list is more diverse regarding beers (of... More

If you want a good, old fashioned beer in a good, old fashioned Brussels bar, this one of the places to go. It is a favourite with locals and visitors alike. I have often arranged to meet friends here, but you can also slip in on your own and have a beer or a coffee, or even a bite to... More

Fun, lively and charming room. Long tables make it easy to start conversations with former strangers. Pleasant waitstaff is right out of central casting. I've been here three times in the past ten days and I left with a smile on my face each time. Definitely worth stopping by for at least one beer at this comfy place.
