I can clarify that getting there via the trains and asking locals directions - really you are putting your faith in people who don't really care if you get to your destination or not! Having said that once found - the market is amazing. Yes, there is broken glass in between the cobble stones, and yes, it looks like a... More

It was a real flea market as opposed to vendors selling a lot of cheap new stuff. I enjoyed it, there was quite a variety.

This market was selling everything; there was food and toys and clothing and heaps of junk but in amongst the ‘junk’ there were real gems, well worth the digging around. If you’re interested in art nouveau then this is the place for you. I’ve never seen so much cast, gilt and brasswork just crying out to be rescued. There have... More

I recently moved to Brussels and have really enjoyed visiting the flea market- I have gone every weekend and always come home with a treasure! I have only gone once during the week, and it certainly isn't as busy as it is during the weekend. Not as many people or stalls. To me, it seems the best deals are to... More

I have been going to this market for the past four years and I always find something different. Jue de balle is one of the best open markets that takes place every day from 0600 to about 1400. This market has some history going back serval hundred years and if you know what your looking for from the old world... More

Visiting the flea market is a fun way to spend the morning, ambling through stalls of all sorts of things that you would never think could demand a whole stall. We had fun trying on glasses, hats, playing with dolls, looking at old lost photos and people watching. A hidden gem is a store front with a man grilling fresh... More

Visited on a sunny Sunday while drinking cherry beer and it was lovely. There was much to rummage through - trash and treasure alike, but we mostly just walked through the market. We made some nice and geeky finds at the corner of the flea market which sold old Tintin, Smurfs etc. memorabilia. Beware of lots of broken glass on... More

We had an awesome time at the flea market. There are both great and not so great stuff with a lot of junk thrown in. I bought a few great little thing after haggling a lot. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning!
