This is not a place for children, it is crowded, full of people from seemingly all around the world. You have to dig very patiently to find anything of real value, most of the stuff is worthless at best. If you do not know your stuff, I reckon you will get ripped off. And I wouldn't flash money very publicly,... More

In fact, on weekends, there are flea markets all around Brussels, and I love them. Sure there is a lot of junk and clutter, but you will sift through memorabilia from all decades and occasionally find real treasures for cheap. A great way to spend Saturdays here.

In the market itself you can find a lot of junk and very old stuff, which you may or may not like (my friends bought used hats and clothing), but also the bars around the square are worth a stop! It is a nice area and I don't regret going there. We got recommended to go to the cafè le... More

We had a good time nosing around at this flea market. I've always liked this kind of places because of the people and atmosphere. Most of the things we saw there was junk and funny old stuff presented on the blankets on the ground. I would still recommend it when you are visiting Brussels.

The flea market takes up a square in he city. Most stuff layed on blankets in the square. We found one interesting wall sconce, looked somewhat antique. We bargained it down to 5 euros after a starting price of 15 euros. We stayed about 30 minutes on our way to the train station. You need some time to look through... More

Most of the vendors here displayed their items on the cobblestoned ground. Many items were broken or just thrown into boxes. You really had to look through to see if you could find anything of value that was still in one piece. With haggling you could get an item of interest for a decent price.

Lots of stalls, but did not think items offered at flea market prices...full retail instead and really not willing to bargain very much. Expected more of a variety of antiques than we saw. Walked away with nothing.

We visit Brussels two or three times a year and make a point of going to the Ethnic Market.Best time early Sunday morning. As ex antique dealers and now buying for places we are refurbing we usually find a few things worth buying. Last trip bought a very nice enamelled ornamental wood burner, now in our lounge, for the very reasonable... More
