A beautiful building, becomes more interesting when you find out about the history of it, and you begin to see all its little quirks (eg all the bits that aren't symmetrical)

I'll never forget the first time I stood in front of this building and heard myself say, "Wow! Unbelievable!." The Spire is the best I have ever seen, and I was going to say that the whole building is CRAWLING with statues, but actually it is STANDING with them. There are Kings, Knights, Nobles, Saints, Ladies, Queens ..... scores of... More

The most stunning building at Grand Place is the Brussels Town Hall stands 96 metres (315 ft) tall and is capped by a 3-metre statue of Saint Michael slaying a demon.

The old Town Hall is in the Grand Place and I an art museum, now. A little pricey for the cost but still a must see on the outside for sure. The history is truly amazing!

I visited the town hall by the day and night and I can really recommend you to do so by night :) As you can see in the photos, it's amazing and the architecture talks by itself.

We happened to visit this place during the Belgium National Day, and unfortunately it was flooded by tourist so we could not enjoy it fully. Great architecture and history.Try to avoid the crowds if possible. Plenty of nice caffes and restaurants in the vicinity.

You will be impressed about how detailed is the architecture of this building. It's a must visit. Downside is that the square is very crowded.

It gave me plenty of time to drink :-) But Town Hall and the area around was interesting. I was here during the Christmas time and watching the building and... More
