Hilarious and educational tour of Maes Brewery in Bruges

The tour was good but not great. It was overcrowded (25 people) with one guide. The beers we tasted in the two pubs we visited were nice but those in the beer factory were horrible (apparently this is how beer is supposed to be according to the tour guide). There was so much concentration on what bad beers are rather... More

The tour of the family owned Maes Brewery in Bruges is a gas. The female tour guide could hold her own as a stand-up comic in a big way. One crack about losing their copper equipment to the Nazis during the War and then enduring the post war observation from a German brewer that in Germany, they only use copper... More

I'm an american hop-head--I usually gravitate to west-coast-style IPAs. In fact, regularly when I come to Europe, I drink wine instead of beer, since there aren't many good IPAs available. I figured this tour would at least be a fun and entertaining way to spend an afternoon, learn about Belgian beers, and see some of the city. Admittedly, having brewed... More

Buying the Tickets for the Brewery tour off the back of a few trip advisor reviews made me a bit apprehensive, however the reviews i read prior to booking were spot on. We met outside De Beertemple which is a shop with anything you could possibly want to do with beer (t-shirts, beer, glasses e.t.c). Stephan was our guide and... More

Great fun and we found bars we didn't know existed. We found out how beer is brewed locally and lots of fascinating info about the brewing of Belgium beer. Cedric made the tour great fun and found a way to make everyone feel special. Allow at least 4 hours! We had a great group and enjoyed plenty of time to... More

This beer tour was possibly the best four hours I had in Brussels. Our guide Stephan (Stefan?) was incredibly knowledgable but also held a great sense of humor throughout the tour. He was happy to explain as little or as much needed between the different people attending and had an amazing passion for beer which made it incredibly enjoyable. Would... More

A comprehensive guide to the History and tasting of Belgian beer , incredibly insightful and all topped off with the sharp wit and comedy of an excellent guide. Defiantly one of the best ways to spend an afternoon in Brussels.

It was a great way of tasting the different beer options and learning about the history of the Belgian beer culture. Over all it was a great experience and I would highly recommend not to miss out on this one!

This walking tour was a perfectly balanced and informative tour of the Belgian beer industry and its rich history. Starting with heavy beers at a literal hole in the wall, then to a Lambic brewery for a spin on the brewing process, and ending at a bar, this tour was everything we wanted. Not only was our guide (Stefan, whose... More
