Just happened to stumble upon this bar whilst walking down the street and looked up an alley way and decided to investigate. It's very Ye Olde Worlde and the alley is almost like a time portal taking you back in time over 100 years. Great Belgian beers as you would expect and not that expensive. Love the Kwak!!! Didn't see... More

Founded around 1830 this only surviving puppet theatre is a genuine and authentic piece of Brussels history. Just google for the details ... The downstairs ia an estamine where you can have a few nice typical Belgian/ Brussels beers. Upstairs is the puppet theatre. If you have the time go and see the act, it is beautiful, authentic, historical and... More

We were brought here by a beer tour. The place is charming with puppets all around the interior. Loads of beers to choose from and the staff is helpful.

I read about this place on TripAdvisor. Two maps game me two entrances - they were both right. Not there in time for show on Thursday or Friday night. Friendly staff. They had Kwak on draft. It comes in a hour glass. Interesting to drink when only the bottom bulb is full.

For years I have been coming here, and little has changed... except nobody seems to find it. Now you can go down a narrow street with lots of restaurants and then spot an alley and go to the theratre that way... or you can locate Rue de Marché aux Herbes (which isnt too hard if you go form central Station... We found the evening shows too late for our family 8:30pm so opted for the Saturday matinee which starts at 4pm. The theatre is located just off the Rue des Bouchers via a little alley. The bar is downstairs and the theatre upstairs 2 flights . Tickets can be purchased on the day at the top of the stairs, we... More

Well worth a visit to this hidden-away pub. Big selection of beers, naturally, but the quirky nature of this puppet theatre is what really makes this an atmospheric venue. Don't get caught in the typical tourist traps in the Grande Place. A bit of digging will find this place!

You're in the centre of Brussels, you walk down an alley and suddenly you feel like you're in a different world! The place has so much character, with pictures of puppet shows dotted around, old beams and a fire place. They do a great selection of beer, and you really feel like you are seeing some of Brussels being here... More

Amazing hospitality! While stopped on the street reading the sign outside, a father and his children started to enter the theatre, stopped and explained the theatre. Then he invited us to join them so he could show us the theatre. Amazing to see the puppets set up and ready for the little stage show, a traditional show reminiscent of days... More
