We found the evening shows too late for our family 8:30pm so opted for the Saturday matinee which starts at 4pm. The theatre is located just off the Rue des Bouchers via a little alley. The bar is downstairs and the theatre upstairs 2 flights . Tickets can be purchased on the day at the top of the stairs, we... More

Well worth a visit to this hidden-away pub. Big selection of beers, naturally, but the quirky nature of this puppet theatre is what really makes this an atmospheric venue. Don't get caught in the typical tourist traps in the Grande Place. A bit of digging will find this place!

You're in the centre of Brussels, you walk down an alley and suddenly you feel like you're in a different world! The place has so much character, with pictures of puppet shows dotted around, old beams and a fire place. They do a great selection of beer, and you really feel like you are seeing some of Brussels being here... More

Amazing hospitality! While stopped on the street reading the sign outside, a father and his children started to enter the theatre, stopped and explained the theatre. Then he invited us to join them so he could show us the theatre. Amazing to see the puppets set up and ready for the little stage show, a traditional show reminiscent of days... More

We didn't catch a show, but stumbled upon this backstreet bar on our first night in Brussels. A great little find with good beer and wonderful atmosphere. Definitely somewhere you don't forget!

Didn't catch a puppet show but we really enjoyed the bar and the beer in the kwaks; great tasting beer served in a novel way. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere and very helpful staff. They only had cheese cubes and crisps to eat but that was quite tasty. This bar was recommended by friends who had lived in Brussels for some time... More

You''ll never be anywhere like Toone. This unique hole-in-the-wall of Brussels is guaranteed to make you feel like you stepped into a whole other world… especially if you make it for a puppet show.

Lovely little pub with a great history (apparently 8 generations of their family have run this pub & the mayor has to crown a new head puppeteer). The staff are friendly, as is their resident cat. Apparently this place used to have two cats and a chicken roaming round. Be aware that the bar snacks are VERY basic - cheese... More
