A Brussels institution. A wonderful selection of beers served by knowledgeable staff in the unique setting of a marionette theatre. A word to the wise- the beer menu does not show the strength of the drink so you may end up with a pleasant glow quicker than you thought. Look out for the bar cat who keeps a friendly eye... More

Visited Toone on Saturday evening for the first time in about 30 years! Coinciding with the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo they were putting on a show about Napoleon - great fun, and very well written, narrated, and “acted” by the puppets. As it was all in French some was a bit lost on my husband who speaks... More

Such a good find, down a very quite side alley off an extremely busy main road you find this beautifully hidden away pub, plenty of beer choices and a lovely garden to spend a summers evening in. Glad we found this place!

A bit off the beaten track, but worth finding... Nice little beer garden out the back with some nice beers on the menu. Had a great evening.

Where else in the world can you watch a marionette show in the old tradition in an authentic and atmospheric old venue? This was a huge highlight of our trip to Brussels. An incredible theatrical and historical experience, and funny too! A bit like "The Flashing Blade" without the subtitles. The venue is strewn with marionettes, in the rafters, on... More

Came here with a guide, starting at the main square in front of the Godiva store. My hubby thought this would be great and as usual, he was right! Down a narrow alley you would never notice, it's an awesome little bar that only locals would know about. The Orval beer is brewed locally and the favorite. We liked it... More

Absolutely hilarious. Not speaking French we barely understood a word but still very funny and a must for anyone still a child at heart.

Just happened to stumble upon this bar whilst walking down the street and looked up an alley way and decided to investigate. It's very Ye Olde Worlde and the alley is almost like a time portal taking you back in time over 100 years. Great Belgian beers as you would expect and not that expensive. Love the Kwak!!! Didn't see... More

Founded around 1830 this only surviving puppet theatre is a genuine and authentic piece of Brussels history. Just google for the details ... The downstairs ia an estamine where you can have a few nice typical Belgian/ Brussels beers. Upstairs is the puppet theatre. If you have the time go and see the act, it is beautiful, authentic, historical and... More

We were brought here by a beer tour. The place is charming with puppets all around the interior. Loads of beers to choose from and the staff is helpful.
