It's true that it is a mini Eiffel Tower. You go up to the top in an elevator and you look out the window and that's about it! Well there's the trip back down. I may have missed it, but I thought read that you take an escalator down. You do, but just midway. You then have to climb several... more

Visiting the Atomium is a must when in Brussels. Its as good as visiting the Eiffel Tower. The whole experience is fantastic. The first sight of it brings flashbacks to War of the Worlds ~ it seems to loom at you through the trees! You first go to the very top pod in an elevator. The views of the surrounding... more

The atomium has an icon status that our travel- (let alone museum-) fitugued 7 year old showed interest in, which the parents greatly appreciated. We had great view of Brussels and enjoyed experience. We stayed inside for ca. 1/2 -1 hour, but could have had lunch in the top bulb restaurant with no doubt stunning views. The souvenir shop was... more

To see the atomium was one of the main reasons we scheduled a stop in Brussels on a recent road trip. It is very interesting architecturally, of course. Currently there is an exhibit inside the Atomium with many mementos, both audio and visual, of the World's Fair for which the exhibit was built. This brought a whole new dimension to... more

Only stayed in Brussels for short of 3 days. As I wanted to visit one more spot, beyond the central district of Grand Place, I chose Atomium. I love this cool and stylish look. Yes, I fully understand the comments of other reviewers, saying the inside is boring, the exhibitions are not fantastic. Yet, to me, worth-visiting as to experience... more

We had a good time at the Atomium, a relic of the Brussels World Fair in 1958. It's an easy Metro/tram ride up to it. (Tip -- Go to the Heysel station at the stadium just past it and walk DOWN the hill). It's been refurbished recently, but some things are gloriously stuck in the 1950s. There are interesting archive... more

Only a few 'bulbs' can be entered. The officers won't tell you that. 15 minutes waiting for elevator, also on top to go down again. The exposition about Antartica is very small and not amusing at all. Stay outside and keep your money for (far) better things, e.g. [-] more

The Atomium was state of the art and AMAZING.... in 1958. Seeing the outside of this oddity isn't a bad deal but that's where your visit should end. Take a few pictures from the outside but stop your journey there oh adventurer, this with you I plead! If you choose not to listen to my advice, let me warn of... more

From the outside, it is a remarkable building. Inside, with a 9 euro ticket the only thing that you can see is a very good 58th expo description and a little bar. Everything else was closed. Maybe the restaurant was opened but only with reservation can be visited so, don’t loose time here except if you want to check things... more

Really surprised by some of the negative comments about Atomium on Trip Advisor. I found it a genuinely unique experience and one of the best things I did in Brussels. I got a taxi to Heysal Park; it took around 15 minutes from central Brussels. Despite having seen loads of photos, seeing the Atomium loom into view takes your breath... more
