The four of us (2 adults, 2 children) visited the Lion's Mound over Easter on a beautiful Spring day. There was ample parking when we arrived but it did get busy later. It cost a family of four € 32 for a joint family ticket giving us access to the Lion's Mound, Wellington Museum and Panorama which was very good... More

Bearing in mind it is a building site, getting ready for the bi-centenial celebrations. It was a victory for Wellington and his Allies over Napoleon the experience was a big disappointment. Hardly any mention of Wellington, a non existant Museum ( I assumed the displays were being cleaned and made ready for the New ?? Museum) The emphasis was on... More

This was a bit of a pilgrimage for me and was fantastic to see. Very educational and the mound put the battlefield into perspective as did the panorama. However there's loads of building work going on for June 2015 so if you have a choice go during or after the commemorations.

This is a truly wonderful visitor experience. Upon arrival you watch a very good introductory video about the history of the battle, before moving into a second theater to see excepts from a French feature film about the battle of Waterloo that brings to life the history that happened where you are now. I visited at the end of the... More

Very interesting, good films, could have had a multilingual headset commentary instead of English subtitles. Panorama is clearly having work done as it was very dusty. The Lion's Mound is quite a climb, lovely view and quite scary coming down but very do-able.

We went to see this monument today, a chilly but sunny day. I have checked the map and route before going, however getting there was not easy. Hardly any sign on the highway from Brussels mentioning this attraction. Some roads were closed due to market today so we had to turn around. When we were almost there we had to... More

not much to see before June 2015 as under construction (road partly closed). but yin can try the various sites on the battlefield; like Hougoumont (being restored too) and Mont Saint Jean, where the WATERLOO brewery is hiding.

Interesting to walk on the path of history. After you visit Wellington Museum in Waterloo, you can go 4 km to the Hill and walk another 226 steps to the top. Great view. You wont regret the effort.

The mound as mentioned by others is a hard climb so be prepared. Narrow steps take you to the top, they are only wide enough for one person. The view from the top was worth it though. Myself and friends climbed it in full motorcycle gear..... The visitor centre is ok. The restaurant next door could have been friendlier. Worth... More

It was hard to get up, if youa re visiting it with people with mobility problems, you should consider not to go up, but if you are an average person, it is really nice to make the efford. Wonderful view, and pictures. Really nice.
