The site is a must if you are in the area. The visitors centre was recently restored for the anniversary of the battle. The mound is impressive and has a commanding view of the battle area. There are a lot of stairs so get ready for a leg workout!

An imposing bronze statue of a lion, commemorating Dutch Prince William of Orange, who was wounded in the Battle of Waterloo stands atop a man-made hill, high above the surrounding countryside. A climb to the top provides an extensive panoramic view. The visitors' centre here has a gift shop and restaurant. A separate, circulat building, has a 360 degree panorama... More

We just wanted to climb the hill with Lion statue. Once there we founf out that there is only a "combi-ticket" available for the three atractions, you cannot buy separate entries. And what a great idea that was. We started by climbing the Hill, it offers a great view over the landscape, but the real surprise was underground. The visitor... More

Not much to see there, if you are a passionate about Napoleon's battle at Waterloo then yes, go visit, if not, I wouldn't recommend.

The view from the mound is worth it. It is a steep climb of steps strait up. It is exhausting but the view is worth it

As a Waterloo local, I have been many times with visitors to the Lion's Mound. And each and every time, I taught this to be a really overated place, wondering why the tour buses only stopped here (or even stopped here). Now, it makes a nice little stop if you are "en route" for something else (such as the nearby... More

Steep walk up stairs which I imagine becomes busy in summer as only one access up and down . Museum recently finished is new and modern and has lots of different interactive exhibits, very interesting hand held audio in different language available. Entrance price fair, cafe and shop also available

Great morning spent here it was 16 euros for the museum, mound, Panorama, and a shuttle bus to and from Hougoumont Farm which I found to be great value. The new museum was excellent very interactive and interesting with an 3D film that highlights the main points of the battle, excellent 3D visual of facing a cavalry charge . The... More

There's not much to say about the Lion of Waterloo, other than it's a very cool place to visit if you have interest in European history! I was lucky enough to be here for the last anniversary, and there has been so much interesting information being publicized about Napoleon and the battlefield itself. Plus, it's probably the tallest hill in... More

Fantastic museum, well worth the visit. Panorama is beginning to look old, but is still impressive. The views from The Lion Mound are excellent and highlight how small the battlefield actually is. Hougoumont Farm is magnificent. All in all, for the price of 16 Euros - excellent value. Thoroughly recommended.
