My review of Zurenborg can be found under Cogels Osy. An architectural extravaganza - end of the 19the century

Don't miss that small neighbourhood with beautiful, art nouveau buildings. You could spend hours just looking at all the details and the diversity of decoration!

This old market square was once the centre of Zurenborg (part of Berchem, Antwerp) and is now a lively well established place to meet friends, have a drink, go out for dinner and have a great time. It's alive and kicking and in the middle of a very attractive area with old beautifully built houses in the surrounding streets -... More

Well worth a detour to walk around and admire the variety of decorative styles on these quiet streets, said to result from an architectural design competition at the start of the last century.

A great neighbourhood. Take all the time you have, to enjoy it - provided you're a Jugendstil fan. The Tramplein roundabout is a good place with several restaurants and terraces to be used as a starting point, and is served by street car line 11.

The Mabuhay bed and breakfast where I've slept was in this beautiful neighbourhood. This area has plenty of good restaurants and bars. Nice to have an evening walk.

this is the place to make a side trip away from the center for! The buildings and neighborhood are so well preserved it boggles the mind to think they almost demolished this area to build a new! thank god it was saved in time.

Zurenborg area is beautifully set out around a square where there are many restaurants and bars. The houses are amazing , with Art Nouveau stained glass windows and wrought iron and carved wood room dividers. The houses are all individual with window boxes and potted plants outside. Its easy to walk here from Central station.

During a city trip to Antwerp, we diverted from the regular tourist route and land by sheer coincidence in the Zurenborg area. Stroll in the direction of the Berchem railway station and discover an absolutely impressive street with ancient mansions.

If you take the #11 tram southeast from the central station, it takes you to the fabulous collection of art nouveau buildings preserved for all to enjoy. The mosaics, art glass and metal work on many of these homes is impressive and worth seeing if this architecture is to your liking. I would love to live in one of those... More
