I noticed some of the other reviews of the South Area claim it is hipster territory. Well don't despair, you can appreciate, enjoy and be welcomed in this dynamic part of the city with or without facial hair or steampunk clothing. I visit here regularly because the atmosphere is great and there are many top quality and very varied restaurants... More

Try not to m,iss this area when you're visiting Antwerp! One trendy place after another, and the Fine Arts Museum (Museum voor Schone Kunsten) in the center, the latter should be an art lover's magnet once it fully reopens

Zuid district has been a very good surprise, having a pleasant stroll watching the many glass window shops. Shops actually really interesting, design and home decor at most. After that I saw a huge range of bar and restaurant, in short a lively place where to spend time.

The South of Antwerp has turned from no-go-zone into the hottest place for trendy eating and yuppie living. You can literally walk into any restaurant and have agreat meal. The competition is so fierce that the customer wins in choice, price, quality, accessibility. Some places need a reservation but if you don't reserve and the one you want it full... More

There are upwards of 40 restaurants in this area, great choice and a buzzing atmosphere in both the restaurants and the bars. Much preferred to the touristy (Although still lovely!) Groote Market centre of the city

An upmarket area in the South-west of the city. Homes to lots of small restaurants and bars, with nice reasonably priced food and drink. Friendly service abounds here. There is a cinema club - called Zuid at the side of the Fotomuseum which has a really good selection of films for only 5 Euro a film. Bus 34 takes you... More

I love 't Zuid. The antique shops, the many restaurants and bars, the party scene, the museums and the closeness to the river. Can't go wrong here; There is simply something for everyone.

OK, we did visit in the snow and the tramline (no 12) to the area is being dug up at the moment, but I couldn't quite see what all the fuss is about this area - I was expecting a lot more interesting shops and restaurants than there appeared to be. I imagine its a lot more lively in the... More
