Lovely historic houses to see. In Suterdays can you by everthing on the huge market... Fish, meat, flowers, fabrics, hats, fruit, greens etc... My favourite is to go for oyster and cava, standning there and eating and looking at the market and all people. Talking to people around you :)

The Grote Markt is a beautiful town square, similar in architecture to other European cities I have visited. The streets in and around are littered with souvenir shops, Belgian chocolate and beer shops, and the Cathedral's tower dominates the skyline in one corner. Definitely worth a visit.

This is where the cathedral, the town hall and lovely guild houses are located. We assumed this was the centre of the city. Wonderful architecture in the surrounding buildings. Well worth visiting if you are in Antwerp for a few hours.

When I think of "Belgian town hall" this one in Antwerp is pretty spot on. Lots of shops and cafes to see. Definitely worth a walk-thru from the train station.

The Town Hall was built between 1561 and 1564 to a design by Cornelis II Floris de Vriendt. The fountain is crowned by the Roman hero Silvius Brabo. This hero is from a sixteenth-century legend. The legend tells of a giant named Druoon. The giant terrorized the people who came along on the Scheldt with their ship Druoon eistte toll... More
