A nice old castle, that used to be a prison, then a museum. Now it's a restaurant, but still seems authentic the place from outside.
On May 19, 2012, the Steen castle was reopened. A beautiful castle inwalking distance of grote markt,groenplaats,meir,..the hart of antwerp. All "antwerpenaars" have been there on a field trip during primary school.
Since they moved the Maritime Museum into the brand-new MAS Museum, the interior of this very old castle is no longer open. This is a great photo spot to capture one of the oldest building in Antwerpen. Aside from the exterior there's nothing else you can see...this is a quite 15 minutes stop and go kinda place...so don't plan a half day around this...
