Just an old castle where boats used to pay income tax entering Antwerp. There is not much to see, just ok for a small walk.

We were disappointed to find that there is nothing here for the visitor - just an old fortress which is seen at its best from the river bank and is definitely not worth making an effort to go to.

The small castle right on the banks of the river offers a goo view of the harbor and some bits of the city. Its really windy up on the castle

Very many years ago this was a prison. Please read the history via Google ("Het Steen Antwerpen"). It lays near the Schelde and you have such beautiful view to "Linkeroever" = other side of the Schelde (were I live).

Het Steen Castle is a definite place to see amongst many others if you're visiting the city. The history of the castle is interesting. I was expecting to get to see more of the castle than is available to see though so I was a little underwhelmed.

If you want to have an idea of how the city was in the middle ages, this castle is worth a visit. At one point, the Castle was six times bigger than what it is now.It was the home of the burgrave of Antwerp and was surrounded by a large defensive wall. Unfortunately, a huge part of the castle and... More

This will be on many of your standard walking tours. You can't go inside but the outside is interesting to see. It is showing it's age.
