Cool facade but not much inside

Great photo opportunity. However, it's quite a small castle, and there really is just one room behind the impressive facade. The walk along the river is nice though.

Nice place, beautiful old stone architecture, easy to go. Highly recommended. Didn´t get inside, but out is very nice, anyway.

The Castle has been turned into a kids park of sorts. Children can come and learn about the arts and perform theater. There are no tours of the inside and the outside has very minimal information. So wander through the courtyard and use it to access the North River Walkway but don't go there for just the castle.

The Steen is nice and fun to take pictures at or to look at the Schelde river. It's interesting to see a castle like this. However, it gets an average rating since there's only a small path and a courtyard to see, nothing else.

The Steen its the oldest building in Antwerp, located in a privilege position next to the river. There are no tours neither lots to see inside, since just the structure its standing (impeccable by the way). But besides the mandatory pictures inside and outside, there is nothing else to see rather a really old statue (that its jinx according to... More

This is Antwerp's oldest building, and worth a visit for that. There are no tours inside, so content yourself with a walk on the top to gaze at the River Scheldt. The statue at the entrance bridge is of the giant Lange Wapper, who was said to terrorize the city's residents in medieval times. There's also a fertility symbol above... More

Visiting the steen castle in Antwerpen is well worth the time spent. free entry and it is situated on the banks of the river in a beautiful surrounding area. It is quite small though and a visit will take you less than 5 minutes but still worth it

Het Steen (Stone Castle) is the oldest building in Antwerp, built in the Middle Ages around the year 1200, it is an outstanding historical building worthy of a look, it takes a commanding position on the bank of the Schelde. Walk over to the Left Bank via St.Anna's Tunnel for a great view of the castle.

Even though not big, this is one of those places that you may come across when you allow yourself to wonder around and get lost in an unknown place. Located in front of the river, and even though I wasn't able to see what it is like inside, I think it is a very cool fortress to see. You can't... More

We visited outside of operating hours and found we had explored everything in about 3 minutes. Very disappointed with the visit as there isn't anything to do if the inside is closed.
