The building of Cathedral of Our Lady was started in 1352 and has never been finished. It has a Gothic style. It´s very impressive.

The Cathedral of Our Lady is one of the jewels of the gothic art in the low countries. Not only is it a monument of utmost architectural interest but it contains different masterpieces of a.o. Rubens. Do not mis it !

If you like gothic architecture and baroque art - this is the place to see. It really is breath taking from the outside and even more so from the inside. I did attend mass here and it was a memorable experience for me.

Antwerp Cathedral contains two incredibly important altarpieces by Rubens, who lived and worked in the city. Currently there is also an exhibition of paintings that were in the cathedral but were later moved to the Fine Art Museum, which is currently closed for restoration. The cathedral also has organ concerts at lunchtime, which are included in the admission cost, although... More

Going to the old town of antwerp, you see alot of small quaint brick houses. The small roads are winding and you can't really grasp the layout of the city. Then you stumble upon the cathedral of our lady, and you mind is blown away. This wonderful monument of a time long gone stands as marvelous as ever! Even if you... More

This cathedral is a gothic one and beautifully restaurated, though this process is on-going as many cathedrals all over the world. It has a very nice Maria chapel, almost exuberant in silver and gold, on the left hand side. And on the right hand side you'll find an almost roman, baroque, but definitely rococo style chapel as well. Furthermore, currently... More

An amazing cathedral for sure, but I feel St. Paul's Church (several blocks away) is far more impressive. It's the exterior that is the big WOW here. But it is definitely worth going in to check it out.

There is a fairly substantial 6 euro fee to get in but the children were free. The interior is rich with paintings and carvings and there was a choir signing while we were there which was a real joy to our 3 1/2 year olds. Surprisingly, the twins thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the interior art and they very much... More

This cathedral is very famous in Antwerp or Antwerpen. If any body that visit this place has to visit this cathedral our lady. The glass work and the paintings on the wall is magnificient. As I think the floor is made of of tombstones, worth looking and reading it.

The church to me appeared pretty simple from its interiors than to the sheer size and the intricate works it has all over its exterior. The size of the entire church is staggering. It is visible even from a distance with its hovering structure. The exteriors have so many works and intricate works that I spend almost half of the... More
