Massively busy port with lots of large barges and ships to watch. We actually travelled through this port on our small canal boat, so we found the currents, tides and river traffic a tad overwhelming. However, we loved staying at Willemdok and watching them parade of boats -- including one of the tall sailing ships.

A true citizen of Antwerp doesn't know its port. Sounds strange? Yes it does! The port is actually far bigger in surface area than the city itself. Looking at it at first, it is not very attractive: here are situated the crumb of petrochemical, chemical and biochemical companies of world renown. But the sheer size of it, the various docks... The port area is a little off the tourist track in Antwerp, but it's sometimes nice to get away from the crowds and enjoy some fresh air. There are also a lot of bars and restaurants along the river and the food tends to be better than in the more touristy parts of the City. This also brings back memories... More

There is not a lot to see here, especially the part nearest the city centre. However, it is interesting to see how big the area is and also it has an old castle and plenty of cafes nearby. The industrial part of the port can be seen in the distance.

Lovely place where to walk. It's like 30 minutes journey starting from the big square's Cathedral and get to the bottom boardwalk. Walking through some of the important spots like the Steen Castle and the marine area. Not much to see except few things but it's a pleasant way to stay out of the touristic trails.

Andrwerp in Belgium was so beautiful everywhere you looked was like a town in a fairytale. The Cobblestone roads and the unique shops and scenery was unforgettable.

A good place for a city break away from all the tourists. Not heaving with sights but enough to keep amused and the bars all sell great beers to while away the time and people watch.

miss this one - save the time. Just an area of unfinished car parks there is nothing to see really. They have built a cafe for the incoming cruise ships but that is all. Sometimes they have small fairs but nothing special.
