The city centre is by far more interesting than the port, but yet again this is an industrial port and not a tourist one. The good news is that this is in walking distance from most attractions and you can get into some really good places to grab a bite.

Met Luc in Cafe Pelikaan (check the bar out) and he offered to drive around his workplace - the Port. Gave us an idea of the scale - huge hangars full of goods.

Absolutely fabulous 3 night cruise from Southampton to Antwerp. Food was fantastic and all the cabin crew was brilliant. Antwerp itself was a bit disappointing, especially the Christmas market. Couldn't wait to get back on board.

Anyways, the boardwalk is long enough for a nice jog. To meet some really cool athletes, come here early in the morning. This is... More

Efficient disembarking and embarking. Terminal was warm and manned by friendly and helpful staff. Only a short walk across the road to the centre so easily managed even if you have mobility difficulties.

Antwerp's port is very large and would be suited to a dry day, (it was raining when we visited). There were still a large selection of boats of all sizes to look at, including a lightship, large sea going sailing ships, and private boats of all sizes. The architecture of the building in the vicinity were interesting too, with the... More

The port of Antwerp is one of the biggest ports of Europe. At the background you can see the historical Antwerp sky line, really great to see.
