We loved our visit to Antwerp Zoo! The animals are well cared for, clean cages and the zoo actively participates in breeding programmes. All written information is provided in the major European languages, eg show and feeding times, maps and animal information/interactive signs. We particularly enjoyed the penguin talk and seeing the new baby penguin Qcutie. The staff were very... More

Right behind the station, easy to find, we took the train from Brussels to Antwerp for the day to have a look around the city and see the zoo. All the animals were out, we could have spent hours wandering around seeing everything in the zoo, could easily spend the whole day here. Well worth seeing

The Antwerp Zoo is really a magnificent spot in the middle of the town. Easy accessible. A really great variety of animals in a beautiful green environment. Especially the aquarium, reptiles and Okapi are worth a visit. They also have a great collection of primates. There are sufficient playgrounds for the kids. Scientific exhibitions, tours behind the scenes with a... More

I like this zoo. It is easy to find, just next to the central train station. There is a big variety of different species. Animals look healthy and playfull. There are different activities for children to play and learn, also to climb. There are sea lion shows, different animals feeding. I like educational programs for visitors where they can learn... I love antwerp zoo. I have been going to antwerp zoo from when i was a child. It is a nice zoo in a limited area, but through thoughtful design, they have managed to have a vast amount of animals. A lot of the zoo has been upgraded over the last few years. Currently, there is a lot of work... More

What a beautiful gem of a zoo in the heart of what I can only describe as chaos! Antwerp is a nightmare to drive around especially if your sat nav gives way. This zoo is flanked by tram tracks, roads, trains, casinos, strip clubs, shops and "massage parlors"... So my expectations weren't great... But how wrong they were! Now it... More

Probably a spectacular attraction in the 19th century, but a bit outdated today. Like most of this type of attraction, they have modernised for our time, but compared to some of the 'out-of-town' zoos I've visited, Antwerp Zoo is not quite as good. However, without doubt worth a visit due to is central location, many photo opportunities etc., and it... More

Waited an awfully long time to get a ticket (there was a family in front exploring every type of membership and cost...I timed it - 17 minutes in biting cold wind). We appreciated the reduced winter rate, but did not expect well over fifty percent of the enclosures to be empty.....we actually started laughing because it was so desperately sad.... More

This is the place you can spend the whole day in. It's not that big as Zoos in Vienna or Paris, but perfectly organised. You can see different animals and birds, seals, pavillion for tropical butterflies.
