We arrived in this station and we are amazed with the stunning architecture of this station. The front interior is amazing and worth to spend 15 mins there just to enjoy the view. The station is just 5 mins walk from the Antwerp Zoo.

Antwerp Centraal is a beautiful way to arrive in the city. If your train is long-distance/international there's a good chance you'll arrive on the lowest of four levels. Get off the train and just look up - you will see trains above you. (The downside is that it's a long way down when leaving but there's a lift for those... More

This railway station is a gem, full of history and represents the time when architecture was an art - much more than cold concrete squares. Obviously accountants had less to say than they do today. Taking a train however is a bit of a challenge as there are platforms at several levels and the signing could be better. Even if... More

The Antwerp Central Station is one of the world's most impressive railway stations. It was built between 1895 and 1905. It is 185 metres long and 44 metres high and has two entrances. Situated near to the Astrid square, the Antwerp Zoo and the diamond quarter of Antwerp. A must-see when you visit this wonderful city !

A must to see in Antwerpen. Just walk in a take a look, as well many of the diamond jewleries are inside the station.

the outside of the building looks rather old, but beautiful, but the inside of the building is very modern, except for the entrance of the old building. The trainstation has four levels and lights were placed in such a way that is has a nice effect. As far as trainstations go, this is one of the most beautiful I have... More

The central station of Antwerp is considered as our second cathedral. In the '80 ties the government thought of demolishing it, but there was such a huge protest: many people, artists, architects, local people joined forces to stop this mad idea. There were popular balls and concerts in the main hall. Luckily, a new plan was made and it was... More

Locals call the Antwerp central station the railway cathedral. Rightly so! It was renovated a couple of years ago to accomodate trains passing through it, as it used to be an end station. They also wanted to be ready for the high speed trains (and the international travellers on them) linking Antwerp to Amsterdam and Paris. The renovation managed to... More

After its renovation the station has turned into a real attraction. Can you believe it was destined to get demolished in the 80's courtesy of our then Minister of Traffic Herman De Croo? More than few people opposed ... Also don't forget to visit the modern part inside.

Beautifully restored 19th century Central Station. Imposing building with opulent features typical for that period combined with modern platforms and shops and excellent infrastructure. Guilding, sculptures and clock are works of art.
