it's hard to give a rating here. we have been there many times - every time we visited antwerp and it was always great. very good selection of beer, food quite tasty, free wifi and absolutely fantastic atmosphere (decoration, lights, selection of background music). never met any rude waiter. it takes some time to wait for the service, but in... I was tempted to go into this restaurant for both the decor and its own brewed beer, called Het Elfde Gebod. I did not try the food, but it looked very nice. The beer is lovely and costs €3.20. They will not sell bottles of it till sometime in 2014, but you can try it on tap.

I guess this is where all the catholic statues ended up. If you like a bit of quirky with a good selection of beers then this place is worth a visit. I guess it is a bit of a tourist venue but I have never seen anything like it before.

My husband & I just couldn't resist going into this restaurant! We felt if the menu didn't look good or if it didn't look clean we could just have a beer and not eat lunch, but regardless it was going to be worth a look around! The restaurant is next to the cathedral hence it's nickname the cathedral cafe. We... More

We often end up eating here during business trips because it offers a dazzling array of beers and a delightful menu. And that's without mentioning the unique atmosphere inside where a startling number of religious decorations, busts and statues adorn every shelf, nook and cranny. It's almost as if you are being judged as you quaff different beers under the... More

If you are not into religious statues, this is perhaps not the place for you - there are hundreds of them! On the other hand they do have a great selection of Belgian beers in unique surroundings including the 10% St Bernardus which we enjoyed. As with all Belgian pubs, the difficulty was deciding which beer to choose. Not the... More

In my guide book it recommended this place for a reasonable 3 course lunch. So we went I. And sat down and waited and waited and waited. No menus were offered, no nod of acknowledgement. There were two parties in front of us with menus so we decided to cut our losses and go else where. Interesting inside with all... More

We visited this bar mid July 2013, it's a lovely little place on the whole with a few surprises up it's sleeve. Read the full review on my beer blog "Beersay" below, thanks for reading and sharing. Cheers

Het Elfde Gebod is one of my favourite pubs ever! Amazing collection of religious iconography and statues literally filling the entire place, great ambience and brilliant beers. Definitely a must-visit, I always make sure to go there whenever I'm in town!

Definitely worth a visit if you're around the Grote Markt, if only for the statues! Staff were also pretty friendly, although they were fairly busy, but managed to get a table and stayed for a couple. A fairly unique bar!
