Definitely worth a visit if you're into culture like me! The price includes a guided tour. Mine was in Dutch, but I assume they do English speaking tours as well. From the outside you wouldn't expect that this small, but yet beautiful building, has such a cruel history. Although back in the days, people did their best to bring justice... More

I found this an excellent place to visit. If you want an English speaking tour, you can go at 2.15 pm. The tour guide had a really good sense of humour which made it so much more fun and interesting. It was incredible to learn about prison 600- 700 years ago. It has incredible torture rooms and you learn so... More

Pro tip - the tour is in Dutch; be sure to pick up a tour pamphlet in your chosen language and to let your tour guide know what language you speak. Anyways, you will get the highlights by using the pamphlet. You get to tour prison cells, torture chambers, and learn about crime & punishment in the Middle Ages. Awesome.... More

If you don't speak Dutch, then don't bother going. It is such a waste of time as you can only go in if you join a 45-minute guided tour which is entirely in Dutch!!! No labels nor signs in other languages to help non-native speakers. The written English pamphlet which is apparently the translation of the tour is woefully inadequate.... More

I have lived in The Hague (Den Haag) for 9 years and walked past this museum so many times. What a little gem behind those gates. We went into the standard rooms, without a guide and had a little wander about. There are some basic things to see, but not a great deal. Most of the parts worth seeing are... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour by a very knowledgeable gentleman who spoke excellent English and gave us an insight into what it must have been like to be detained in the prison while awaiting trial. Thank you

Opposite the Binnerhoff in Centre of town early to find. Has several rooms you can explore on your own and several you get taken around by a guide. The guide conducts the tour in dutch and you get to read a translation in a paper phamplet - so much point taking you round in a tour. Its a good introduction... More

I loved visiting this museum, but you definitely need to go on a guided tour. I was lucky to have a private tour because I went there in the morning and there weren't any other visitors. The tourguide knew a lot about the objects in the museum and takes you to rooms you cannot visit on your own(like the former... More
