Enjoyable to visit, though not easy to find. In an area of urban renewal, which is fascinating by itself. To get there by metro, use Wilhelminakade station, which has platforms that go uphill and a stunning travellator in a tube. The museum is a large gallery with plenty of space to see the photos. In Spring 2015 there is a... More

whilst walking around the area of our hotel we came across this museum, it is simple but intersting and with its collection of popular and unknown art, can be quite entertaining for a few hours.

This is a modern and spacious museum with good facilities. The temporary exhibitions were interesting and well laid out. We particularly enjoyed the 'dark room' where the photography paper placed in the various developing trays tells a range of stories about the history and importance of photography.

We visited to see the Robert Doisneau exhibit, so can't say how the rest of the museum is normally, but this show was well presented and comprehensive. Also had very nice cake at the coffee bar at the entrance.

This museum became one of my favourites through out the years. If you have an interest in photography you'll feel in your comfort zone over here. They often have a lot of work of the bigger names in the industry, the exhibitions are well thought of and the dark room is a cool interactive experience. Must say, the museumshop has so... More

The great names of photography are regulars in this museum. Visited several great expositions here. They have a very well sorted museumshop were you can find great photobooks.

...then this is well worth a visit. The main exhibition hall usually has a themed exhibition, so I suppose how much you enjoy it will depend on your personal interest in the subject of the exhibition. Down in the basement, though, there's a well thought-out and cleverly-constructed permanent exhibition that gives a great historical perspective on photography and Rotterdam, and... More

I had read many reviews and had mixed feelings about going but was so glad I did. While the current exhibition wasn't my favorite, I really enjoyed the rest of the museum, particularly the darkroom. This museum is well designed for those who only speak English with clear directions and presentations. For those wanting to see antique photographic equipment, you... More

If you are a photographer yourself than this museum is for you. What I specially liked was the room with the big white plastic boards that allowed you to dig deep into Dutch photo history. Also very interesting contemporary exhibitions.
