a great place to walk around even when as it was in our case, quite cold, with its old and new and modern tame in buildings, senic routes to follow, places to eat and visit and unknown to us areas of interest by crossing over the small bridge behind Hotel new York to find a theater and places to eat.

The Wilhelminapier is where Rotterdam's claim to be 'Manhattan on the Maas' gets the most credibility. Located right next to the Erasmus bridge, here you will find the 4 tallest buildings in the Netherlands. The area consists of modern architecture and former warehouse that have been redeveloped into restaurants or museums. Architecture fans can find designs by world famous architects... More

This former harbour area has been transformed into a residential an offices area. Not all building project have been executed yet, but still there is enough to see. Visit the historic Hotel New York, go to the movies at Lantaren/Venster, have dinner at one of the restaurants, cross the Rijnhavenbrug into Katendrecht towards the Rotterdam Steam Ship and visit the... If you are going on a Holland America Cruise, you have to come here. In which case, you should stay at Hotel New York and save yourself some stress. If you are just wondering around, the water views are nice and you can get an excellent view of the big bridge. And, it serves as a shortcut to another part... More
