Exposed ships are very nice, mapping the history of Rotterdam harbour. On the shore itself, you'll find a couple of interesting items as well. For example just part of an engine, which is a size of a garden house. Or replica of old looking crane and steam train to enhance the atmosphere of an old cargo port. More

The Museum offers you an insight in the old harbour of Rotterdam, lot's of ships and machines to see, great for our children. More

I went to this museum with my father an old seaman and he found a lot of things he wanted to see, all beautiful qand clear. In Amsterdam it was more thematic which was not interesting for him. More

Possibly knowing Dutch Maritime history created to much expectation. The inside of the Museum was totally lacking creativity and stimulation; bored rigid and do not bring children. The outside however was excellent and gave a real feel to the history. The internal history needs reworked to stimulate thought and understand the importance of maritime history to Holland through the centuries.... More

Like many attractions in The Netherlands the scope of this and the time taken to do it properly were both understated by the staff.
