Went as part of a tour group that included a wine and cheese tasting, very nice people, informative about the local culture and very good cheese and wine.

Stopped in for the tour. Didn't seem like much at first, but learned a lot. Really cool place. Bought a ton of amazing cheese. Yum

Like many of the typical Dutch cities which gathered their wealth in the 16th and 17th century, Gouda also has a so-called Waag. This example has stood the test of time very well and shows off its wealth in style and architecture. Also houses the Cheese Museum.

The place to visit for all tourists. Be aware during summer season and on a Saturday it can be very busy.

In this old building you will find the VVV (the touristic office). Pick up your free guiding flyers. Old attributes and gadgets can be bought.

Interesting especially if you go when the cheese market is on. Lovely old building and the staff are helpful and will answer questions. You can also get yourself weighed!!

Good cheese, stroopwaffles, lovely staff and a very very big cheese weighing scale that you can see even when the market is not on.

This building offers a fascinating insight into the Gouda's history and trading status as a cheese manufacture and trading centre. The exhibits are well presented and information is clear and easy to follow. A DVD presentation guides the visitor in the process of making the famous Gouda cheese. Access for the mobility challenged is limited however you are able to... More
