St. John’s Church in Gouda is one of the few churches in the world today that still retains stained glass in all its windows. Of the seventy-two windows on display throughout the gothic church, sixty-one date back to the sixteenth century. Equally amazing is the fact that the original blueprints for 90% of the windows are still stored in the... More

Beautiful stained glass worth going inside for! Take the trouble of reading the pamphlet you will get with your ticket. It will a more meaningful and cultural experience!

The glass-stained windows in the longest church of Holland tell a story of the bible and some history. The colours are unique and on a sunny day they really come to life. If there is 1 thing you can see while in Gouda, come to see this

If you like stained glass you will love this. WOW! From someone who grew up in the shadow of Ely Cathedral it takes a lot for a church to impress me. This church seriously impressed me.

It's definitely worth the 4.5 € entrance fee to go inside and see the amazing stained glass windows. Beautiful church, lovely interior.

This church is interesting in that it started out as a Catholic Church, was appropriated by the Protestants and to this day remains and active Dutch Reformed congregation, despite the merging of most Protestant churches in to PKN a few years ago. It's also interesting that the fabulous leaded glass windows were removed, packed and stored in a safe place... More

Absolutely huge stained glass windows in this place! Beautiful, but tough to photograph. Nice to note that there are free toilets inside the church too.

The tourist office in Gouda produce the most informative and attractive brochure we have seen in many a year. It whetted our appetite to view the longest church in The Netherlands - that sort of tells you the profit in cheese through the centuries. It is worth the viewing even if you cannot make the free concerts they sometimes have... More

This is the longest church in The Netherlands at 123 meters. The windows are the real treat here, the storybooks of the time for those that couldn't read. If you can, get a guided tour that will explain the window stories, symbolism, and various patrons included. Beautiful place.
