Very well done with prints and where they are located. Lots of detail about art of the time and his process. Filled in what might have happened since there is so little known about him. But he died in extreme poverty. A shame.

Wonderful innovative presentation of Vermeer's background and talents. Fabulously easy to understand how he mastered the unique light, composition, and color of his paintings. English audio tour included in admission.

This is NOT a museum, but a collection of copies of all the work of Johannes Vermeer who lived in Delft, plus some more back ground information about the painter and his technic. It has also guided tours (English tour only on Sunday; took more than an hour, but is included in the price) as well as acoustic tours. It's... More

While there is not a single original Vermeer painting in all of Delft, the lifetime home of Vermeer, this center manages to create a tremendous feeling for Vermeer's art. The discusssion of his use of light, his subtle hints at what is going on in his scenes, his exacting use of perspective and his seeming sensitivity to the subjects of... More

Vermeer museum is one of these art museums that can be interesting for kids and adults alike. It's small size make it not tiring, the self guided tours delivers simple explanations on aspects that are normally concealed from the untrained eye and that can be conveyed to kids, and the rest of the exhibits bring the world of Vermeer to... All the paintings are reproductions, but that's not the point. The point is that this center displays all of Vermeer's works in sequence, so you can really see what kinds of settings he preferred. From what I saw, those were corners of rooms with windows to the left and people on the right lit by window light. One fascinating part... More

This is a relatively new attraction in Delft, located in the guildhouse of which Vermeer was a member. The exhibition was splendid, with reproduction and information on all of Vermeer's paintings. The film presentation was very informative as well.

My mother, my boyfriend and I travelled to delft from Amsterdam and spent a good portion of the day in the Vermeer center. We got there just in time for a free English tour around the center, which is what I think really MADE the experience for us. Our tour guide was relaxed, knowledgable and really entertaining. We all liked... More

In search of the Vermeer's paintings I've been to many cities around the world and I had also to visit his birthplace, the magic city of Delft, Netherlands. The Vermeer Centrum Delft is a special place for some reasons: 1) Vermeer lived here; 2) it's the only place, as far as I know, where you can see (reproductions, of course... More
