Beautiful small museum with georgeous paintings (ex. Girl with the pearl earring). Whatever you want to do in Delft: stroling, shopping, taking boattrip, visit a coffee-shop, don't leave without visiting this little gem

A lovely place to visit. They show you all the pictures and tell you all the stories. The exhibition is laid out over three floors. You can even sit into a Vermeer painting

Having walked round (lovely) Delft in freezing wind we needed some respite so came in here (Delicious coffeee and cake in the cafe). The most interesting bit was upstairs, showing the paints Vermeer used and how the Dutch paintings of that era always 'tell a story',used prescribed'symbols' (there were books of them ) for e.g. fidelity, infidelity . The contextual... More

Just off the main market in Delft. This small museum does not have a single original painting. It does, however, give background information on many of Vermeer's works, sometimes lasing into pretentiousness! It is also not cheap, so you need to be a Vermeer fan to appreciate it.

We went to the Vermeer Museum in Delft and just loved it I n fact, we went back again the next year. It is so well laid out with lovely art work by such an amazing artist. There is a room laid out as if he had just laid down his paintbrush and gone for a walk. I did not... More

The Vermeer’s house itself is worth a visit but it will cost you unless you park your car in a garage. The Regionale Belaisting Groep – a cash-hungry private company, which “operates” Delft’s parking system runs a scam penalising unsuspecting visitors. Most of the streets are not clearly sign-posted for “special parking zones” (apparently only at the entry to these... More

A quick visit would be enough but it is still interesting! It does not have any originals nor anything original from Vermeer, it is more kind of a stage.

Take your time and enjoy this interactive museum designed to bring the world of Vermeer to the viewer. Depictions of his works, an introduction film, interesting displays on light and its effect on his style, and assumptions on what he "could have" meant as he painted his remarkable work. Its a fine place for children over 10 or such and... More
