This does not have original paintings, rather it is an interpretive centre with a shop, audioguide, historical background on the life and times of Vermeer, analysis of the art, and even a little setup of the Girl at a Window that you can put yourself in for a picture. Allow at least an hour.

As an inhabitant of Delft, I regularly visit the Vermeer Centre in the centre of Delft. With its recent renovation, the Vermeer centre is really up-to-date and more interesting than ever. Take the free audiotour (in various languages). All about the histrory of Delft and its famous painter.

Delft is a beautiful town to even just stroll around, and the Vermeer Centre was the icing on the cake. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The Centre has copies of the majority of Vermeers work, spread over 3 floors, and paintings are arranged in chronological order. You can use the free audioguide to visit just a few key... More

Before we went I read a few poor reviews about the Vermeer Centrum, however that didn't stop us and we really enjoyed it. Lots of 'hands on' exhibits, everything was labelled in Dutch and English. We bought a Delft Pass which gave entry to several other attractions and also gave us free coffee and cake at the Vermeer Centrum. The... More

Although there are only copies of the Vermeer works .. the museum is wonderful! Enjoyed learning about his life and the hidden symbolism in his paintings. Display on how Vermeer used lighting in his paintings was very informative. Even a place to snap a Vermeer-type photo. I came away a huge Vermeer fan!

I didn't really know Vermeer paintings apart from the famous one. As mentioned in the other reviews, they show only replicas, but the most important thing is how they explain his life, techniques and themes. The exhibition is very straightforward and easy to follow. I was really impressed by this place.

If you like Vermeer's paintings and love historical places then you must visit this town. The atmosphere is wonderful and the museums are excellent, especially those relating to the artist and porcelain industry. You will need two days to complete a thorough visit.

In the Vermeer Centrum you don't find real paintings, but only very good reproductions of all paintings of Johannes Vermeer in real size. The real paintings are in several museums all over the world. That's why the Vermeer Centrum is so good, because you can compare all the paintings of him and see what is the similarity of all his... More

The paintings are not here, but replicas of each one are here. Because he did not paint that many there is a replica of each painting. How many great artists can you go and see a representation of their entire body of work on one place. Personally I consider Vermeer a truly exceptional painter, and I have seen many of... More

A really interesting exhibition, well worth a visit. The audio guide is excellent, one of the best I've used. It's whetted my appetite to see some actual Vermeer paintings.
