I believe if you ever visited Delft you will feel that you want to come back again someday. One of the excellent taste about the art and the hospitality of the people you can meet in the Vermeer Centrum Delft. In this location there always be a open market once in a week where the you can find the food,... More

We went to the gift shop and I'm glad we did because they have a bigger and better selection of gifts than the Mauritshuis museum in Den Haag, which has the painting "the Girl with the Pearl Earring". This "centrum" does not have the painting, but explains how he painted it.

If you are interested in Vermeer's art and his times, this is a good place to visit. With the copies of all his paintings and the explanations given, one can extend the knowledge and build further interests. And the gift shop was also ok. However I felt like the place was missing some modern approach and could really be improved.

As other reviewers have pointed out, the first thing you should know is that there are no original Vermeer works in this museum. That said, however, this is a very interesting place to visit if you are a fan of the work. There are many displays of Vermeer's life, ranging from those speculating about his life and teachers to those... More

Having known nothing about Vermeer previously I read up about him the day before this visit. It helped me to enjoy it and get more from the visit. The paintings being in chronological order and audio info were both useful and it didn't matter to me that they were obviously reproductions and there was information about where the originals now... Took the cube tour round Delft this includes the old and new kirks the museum where William of Orange was shot and the Vermeer centre. All of it amazing. Good tip start early as so much to see we had trouble fitting it all in. To do this justice allow a complete day to soak up the atmosphere of Delft... More

Nothing much of interest, just copies of his paintings. The building's architecture was more interesting than inside. Total waste of time.

All the Vermeers under one roof! This is an excellent centre, well laid out, good audio. Wasn't expecting it to be so good. The studio explaining the paint colours and use of light was very interesting as was the video on restoring "The Woman in Blue". Well worth a visit. Have seen the Vermeers in the Mauritshuis; next stop the... More

This is a museum about Vermeer which includes his life, work and art. It shows as much as is known of his life and techniques very well. As others note there are no actual vermeers left in delft but they have recreated prints and go into great detail on each. Get the free audio Guide! The visit took us two... More

This is a very interesting museum about Vermeer's life and painting style. We learned quite a bit. My favorite part was the section on the top floor that detailed the hidden meanings in his paintings. The second floor talks about the physics of light in his artwork and the types of material they made paint out of as well. I... More
