The weather can be bad in Holland and what do you do with your children. Well, if they are around the age of 9, don't go to the Arsenal. Its a run down place. While you still have to pay 12,50 euro for kids and 14,50 for adults. For very small children it can be nice. Since tehy dont see... More

A nice, but outdated set-up. The pirate stuff was not very interesting and for kids used to Disney etc a real let down. The play area, however, was nice and the aquariums were a real attraction to the kids, especially the ray petting one. It is very expensive and actually not really worth the money. We were there on a... More

The pirate adventure show was very 80ish style and would really benefit from an update. Available only in Dutch with German subtitles makes it difficult for the kids to follow. The area where the kids can touch sting rays is very interesting. Good option if the weather does not play along, mainly for younger kids. Just be aware this is... More

We visited Vlissingen with the children of my daughter. For them there was a lot of things to see and do including fishes end the story of many fairytails. The topper was the big tower with the elevator to the highest level and a fantastic view over Vlissingen.

But don't go with younger kids (3-), they get frightened by the pirate theme. The fish theme a bit further down the museum is great and the lookout is also great.

We purchased our tickets for ‘The Arsenaal’ combined with the boat trip Breskens-Vlissingen. About €40 for 2 adults and 1 four year old child, not bad for a fun day out. Admittedly, some areas of 'The Arsenaal' are a bit outdated and need a new wind under their sails, but for the youngest pirates among us, this is one experience... More

Visited july 2011 with two kids aged 5 and 7. We paid 40€ with a discount and thought it was a colossal waste of money. You learn more about pirates trying the Pirates of the caribbean ride at Disney world. The displays were of very poor quality, and the audio/visual "show" looked like it was made on a PC left... We visited Het Arsenaal today. Cost nearly 50 euro for a family of 4 to get in, and we found it to be claustrophobic, noisy and the attractions were pretty poor. Tasteless "Pirate's Cave", with several scenes unsuitable for young children (ours are 7 and 4). Various video features on display are of really poor quality. Also, the Arsenaal website... More
