This place is beautiful I love the area it can be peaceful but on Thursdays they have a market I believe which is very busy. Other than that this is a beautiful spot to take photos I can't wait to visit again

A beautiful example of mediaeval profane architecture from the same architect family as the Town Halls of Antwerp and Brussels.

The Town Hall is the central focus of the Markt in Middelburg. Not a routinely 'open to the public' building it's architecture can still be enjoyed from the outside. Note that although it is still referred to as the 'town hall', all municipal offices have been relocated to a modern complex on the canal down from the railway station.

It looks awesome and my daughter found it very very beautiful. ''My'' town Hall of Middelburg, in late Gothic style, situated at the Markt in Middelburg. Construction began in 1452 led by several generations of the family Keldermans Flemish architect and lasted until 1520. The town hall has a facade with Gothic windows, red and white shutters, turrets and twenty-five... More

In the centre of Middelburg, the town hall is one of the buildings worth having a look - lucky for us, we did so during market day so the whole square was animated. In the first day of real sunshine in a while, it was a pleasure.

Conveniently situated on the market square, the building is an amazing piece of Gothic art, that deserves every visitor's attention. Across the square is the Tourist Informations Office where you can book a visit in English, at 11.45 at the time of writing this review (April 2013). Middleburg has a lot to offer, but needs a little bit digging, and... More

The 17th century building is very impressing. If you look at it from the outside you are already astonished about the nice shape and clock

Beautiful architecture. Check out the gargoyles! This imposing building is now the Roosevelt University. Well-placed on the bustling town square. Many cafes and restaurants on the square.

The "Stadhuis" is a wonderful piece of architecture. It is still referred to as the town hall but is now part of the university. It stands proud in the market square and is always a welcoming site.

Everything here is original together with the abbey. Do not miss the Kuyperstraat in Middelburg.
