it is interesting to see these special Dutch "streetorgans". This museum is not so big so to spend 45 minutes is always possible when you are staying in Utrecht.

Small but interesting museum. Good for anyone interested in music and history. Make sure to take the guided tour given in Dutch and English (perhaps other languages available too). It was nice that the items on display were not only for display but still functioning so that we could listen to the music played by the instruments.

I have visited the museum a couple of times and always an interesting and unusual place to go in Utrecht. Now though they have a very nice, atmospheric cafe attached. Comfy, modern, informal surroundings, good bar, coffee and appelgebak, friendly staff. Call in, if not for the museum, just for a cuppa.

Appeals to the musician, the artist, the historian and the engineer. Great way to spend a couple of hours. The self-guided portion is interesting and the "key" each person is given allows you to hear recordings of many of the instruments. But the tour is where you get to learn about and experience the various instruments small and great first... More

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Didn't expect to find this museum filled with magical and enthralling exhibits that thrill adults and children, alike. The guided tour in English brought us back to a time of extravagance and a history one usually wouldn't hear of! Kudos to the curator and special thanks to our young guide, Reuben!

We found this museuam a total fascination. The guide was brilliant and played many of the exhibits from the tiniest medieval musical box to a truck size dance organ from the 50's. There are also exhibits of automata that can do tricks, singing birds and what have you - any musical instrument can be automated, even violins. You get all... More

We were recommended to go to this fascinating museum in the centre of Utrecht, we would never have visited it as its a museum of musical clocks and mechanical musical instruments and organs, would not have necessarily appealed. However it is most interesting, for all ages, beautifully laid out in an old church. It has a nice shop and great... More
