Some architectural icons can be viewed from the outside and be considered seen, this isn't one of them. If you're interested in seeing the house, put in the extra effort to reserve a tour (easily done in English on their website). The auditory portion of the tour is via a pre-recorded electronic 'headset', many languages were available. The house itself... More

This is a site important in architectural history and in Modernist architecture. It is way off the beaten path from central Utrecht and not a place for the general tourist to visit. Interior tours are by pre-appointment only and we were not able to get a ticket, but even just seeing the exterior is worth the visit. And the staff... More

But if you do know about Rietveld and his works, this is a must see. You will experience not only the amazing Schroeder house but also a lot of Rietveld's furniture like the red blue chair...my favourite. If you are into architecture and furniture you will not be disappointed.

We visited the house on the last tour of the day. You have to pre book your tour, either by the internet, at the ticket office next to the house or the central museum. We booked online 3 days previously for the only tour available that week and as the ticket gives access to both the central museum we picked... More

For anyone interested in modern architecture, this is a place not to miss under any circumstances. Booking is absolutely essential as a very limited amount of people get in per day and each hourly tour/ intake consists of only about 8 people. Once in the tour, you realise why that is- the house is fairly small and very fragile; and... More

Wow, this is a surprisingly nice place to visit! I was not really interested in visiting, but some friends took me here anyways. And wow, really, wow. Such interesting place with a good guide telling all aspects of this wonderful house. A must see!

Well worth a visit, this architect was well ahead of his time. Within walking distance a several buildings to view. It's easy to find and there is plenty of information.

I was there on foot, from the Utrecht Centraal and liked what I saw. After some adventures I arrived at Rietveld Schroder House and it was interesting to see, especially as it is one of the 10 UNESCO Monuments in Netherlands.

this place is filled with straight lines. i think most of the people who like modern stuff will love this museum. the guy died already 100 years ago but could have lived in this day and age.
