I've never seen a house like it! It's really amazing. Way ahead of it's time. Had read about it but to see it & with the guide explaining all the unique features - it was a delight. A few cafés / bars at the top of the road. Residential area with parking on the road.

There are seemingly a lot of obstacles in your path if you want to visit the Rietveld Schroder House: you have to book online (or by telephone on the day); it costs 14 euros and it is a bit of a distance from the city centre. Don't however let these admitted annoyances put you off. I was personally really glad... More

A must for all architecture lovers! We liked a lot the concept of the flexible inside walls. The friendly tour guide is showing the efficiency of it during the visit

If you like Modern this is a must see. This small, unique house sits on an ordinary street,so can easily be missed especially if you dont know about it. Its very radical in design, but well worth a visit,it will make you think seriously about modern design. The number of visits are restricted.

The Rietveld Schröderhuis might be well known around the world because of its appearance and UNESCO World Heritage status but the only real experience is in visiting this house. It is impossible to perceive this house just by looking at pictures, plans and other drawings even though a lot of (graphic) information is widely available. The ambience is catching, seeing... The Rietveld Schröder House constitutes both inside and outside a radical break with all architecture before it. If you are a DIY-er or just like architecture, this is an unexpected nice visit.

Yes it was great. A small but unique house built and used by one of the Netherlands premier designers. Even when constructed in the 1920's it still is very modern and the (love)story behind gives it an additional value. Be sure to get the guided tour !

Visiting upon the suggestion of a design-mad friend, I went resigned to a boring field trip, but was pleasantly surprised. The tour guide was a previous art student and really knew what and how to tell the house's stories. I was surprised at how you had to book ahead at Centraal Museum, but seeing what good care has been taken... More

The Rietveld-Schroder House is a great example of modernist architecture and the embodiment of De Stijl in a building. The staff is remarkably friendly and nice.

Stunning example of De Stijl architecture. Easy walk from centre of Utrecht. Small gallery shop next door.
