We expected we would have to queue but in the morning we were able to walk straght in to this delightful museum. Apart from the Frans Hals there many other wonderful painting. The train from Amesterdam took less than 20 min. Don't miss it. More

Twenty minutes each way from Amsterdam and a brisk walk from the station and you're at one of the gentlest, intriguing, art museums in creation. The April/May 2012 exhibit on Dutch life with Steen and his disciples was of NY/London/Amsterdam quality. And don't forget to visit the museum cafe for lunch--from local beer to warm goat cheese, you'll return to... More

We went especially to the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem to visit this large exhibition The Golden Age Celebrates, an amazing collection of 17th century paintings with a beautiful presentation. We really were astonished by the beauty and the splendor of all paintings exhibited. Most paintings are from Jan Steen and the Hals Brothers but other painters are displayed as... More

This museum has a wonderful collection of paintings not only by Hals but his contemporaries as well. They are displayed in a beautiful setting. The museum is a perfect size for the tourist - not too big to see it all. More

We visited the Frans Hals Museum in April and knew ahead that their art collection was a must-see for us. What we didn't expect was that the building the museum is located in was such a gem. Absolutely beautiful. More

I made a special excursion to the Frans Hals Museum for the exhibit on Celebrations in the Golden Age (I might not have the exact title right) and it was definitely worth the trip. The museum staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. I particularly appreciated the roomy, free lockers to store your stuff while visiting the... More

Haarlem is a beautifull city with a nice market place and a lot of musea, Teyler, frans hals and more. The city is full of nice "hofjes" to visit and the "grote markt" is a wonderfulllace to sit on a terras or visit the church. Better then Amsterdam where every one goes....a clean city with nice people. More
