This is a first-hand walk through a very dark time. Our guide, a volunteer who was a child during the war, tells the story of the ten Boom family in a way that is very personal and deeply moving. Touring the house and seeing the risks taken to save lives is genuinely inspirational. The house is small and groups are... More

When visiting Haarlem this shelter from WW2 is very interesting. You here the story of Corrie ten Boom and her family and visit the actual shelter where Jewish people could hide from the nazis. The house is left in the same way as it was during WW2.

The guide made us feel like we were part of the family such as that we imagined what had happend in that house and in Haarlem during WWII.

I was so moved by the inspiring story of this family that I came home and started reading Corrie ten Boom's books. The guide was great. Be forewarned however, that this family's story of how they practiced what they believed in can open some lively discussion in the tour group, so if that makes you uncomfortable, you may want to... Loved the tour and our guide. It was excellent and nd very worthwhile. There is no air conditioning so it was a bit hot and you climb stairs. I felt this was a plus because it gave you a more authentic feel for what the Ten Booms and their guests experienced. I am so glad we included this on our... More

The free tour was very informative. Guide was excellent! Somewhat emotional to hear the story and see the small space that jewish refugees had to endure before capture by the nazis. The message of courage for standing up for what is right was emphasized and protecting the vulnerable at personal risk left you thinking about what would you do under... More

I've come here three times and every time I am left feeling so encouraged and inspired. It is very nice that the tour guides are all volunteers. They are very dedicated to continuing to spread the message of hope & forgiveness that Corrie did. I highly recommend taking a visit to this free museum/house and getting there early.

If you're in Amsterdam, please, go to Haarlem and let the story of the Ten Boom''s family touch your life! Tickets cost around 9 euros (with return ticket) and trains depart every 15 minutes from Central Station. In 15 minutes you find yourself in a cosy quiet city, with a huge cathedral in the central plaza. Corrie ten Boom Foundation... More

Visiting Amsterdam we of course visited Anne Frank House and gave it a five circle rating. Haarlem was a wonderful town to visit and we were pleasantly surprised to see the Corrie ten Boon House. I never heard of her or The Hiding Place. We were taken by surprise when we arrived to find it is not a "museum" but... More
