We popped in after touring Anne Frank, Rijksmuseum and then Van Gogh Museum. This was a fun and interactive exhibit with a cocktail and two shots of Genever to sample at the end. Not a must see but certainly provided for a fun afternoon in Amsterdam.

Right across the street from the van gogh museum, you get a short tour of the history of bols (started around the same time Rembrandt was shifting into high gear), followed by an inventive cocktail of your choosing and samples of any of the colorful liquors they're pouring. It was a great way to spend 45 minutes in the afternoon.

I really enjoyed this tour. You get shown around a Dutch house where the guide explains the history of Bols. Sometimes these tours are too long with too much information, but they have it just right. The staff were great and at the end the best bit comes, you get to try some cocktails made with Bols. Very tasty and... More

Could have spend hours in this place! Completely interactive museum with dangerously talented waiters at the end of the tour

We spent a few hours at the House of Bols, it's not a huge venue but you learn all about the spirits produced by Bols and at the end have a opportunity to sample a cocktail and shots. We had to resist the temptation to purchase more cocktail tokens as after the first few we were a little 'light headed'... More

Delicious cocktails at the end and great to taste flavours of it near the end too. Very large queue at the bar with only one staff member making the cocktails. Also not a huge amount in the tour beforehand. Needs a big update or revamp. Finished tour quickly. Not hugely worth the €15 each Delicious product but tour not great

Had a fab time at the Bols Experience. The staff are friendly and certainly know their stuff! Had an amazing cocktail - Expresso Martini. The bar staff are very knowledgable about making cocktails. Would recommend a visit if you're in Amsterdam.

Had a fantastic evening at both the museum and afterwards at the bar! We had a swanky private room reserved for our group. Really good cocktails (the amaretto sour and elderflower sour were amazing!). We were quite a big group, so some of us thought it would've been even better if they had served a few nibbles to go with... More

Great fun. Bought cheap tickets online and it was worth every penny. Great staff, good set up and even after the cocktails and shots you actually learn some history too!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
